Travel Director

This position is responsible for the ongoing operation and overall direction of the Zuffa travel program. This includes oversight of all domestic and international travel reservations and arrangements for U.S. and international employees and the end-to-end management of the Company’s in-house ARC accredited Corporate Travel Department (CTD). The Travel Director is responsible for maintaining the corporate travel policy, including appropriate consideration of financial and service needs.


  1. Manages the corporate travel program to maximize service and minimize costs.
  2. Oversees and manages arrangements for event and non-event related travel, including airfare, hotel, ground transportation, etc.
  3. Ensures continuous operation of the Company’s in-house CTD platform, including all aspects of Amadeus GDS, Concur Travel and other back office reporting and related tools.
  4. Negotiates and manages suppliers of travel products and services for savings and securing best services for the traveler.
  5. Analyzes travel purchasing information and reports to senior leadership regarding expenses, trends and recommendations.
  6. Maintains and optimizes internal travel policies.
  7. Supervises activities of Travel Coordinators and Travel Specialists.
  8. Prepares and provides reports to the Executive team as requested i.e. Event Budget Graph.
  9. Selects and implements new processes that improve efficiencies and/or provide cost savings.
  10. Works with all levels of employees and Independent Contractors regarding all aspects of domestic and international travel to address and resolve traveler concerns or service issues.
  11. Assists Accounting with reconciliation of travel card charges.
  12. Reviews the settlement document from event hotel for rooming and the Banquet Event Order for accuracy and coordinates with hotel regarding discrepancies.
  13. Prepares arrival/departure schedule and spreadsheet for events.
  14. Performs other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. 5-7 years of experience coordinating travel arrangements for large groups.
  3. Minimum of 7 years of detailed, busy customer service experience from a Travel Agent, Corporate Travel or Airline environment.
  4. Minimum of 7 years experience from ARC Accredited corporate travel department, travel agency or airline operations, including advanced GDS skills, back office tools, reporting tools and other operational travel tools.
  5. Extensive knowledge and experience using Amadeus GDS system, Concur Travel booking platform and other travel booking technologies. 
  6. Broad knowledge of travel industry, including airlines, hotels, trains, rental cars, limousine services, and conference accommodations.
  7. Ability to plan, organize and effectively arrange for travel of large numbers of individuals and multiple events simultaneously.
  8. Superior customer service skills.
  9. Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationship.
  10. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with individuals in all levels of the organization.
  11. Must be flexible and responsive to a fast paced, high demand, evolving and changing business environment.
  12. Proven ability to work collaboratively.
  13. Self-starter, energetic, positive attitude with enthusiasm to insure goals and objectives are achieved. Able to prioritize and handle multiple competing activities and interests simultaneously.
