Business Development Manager - Florida
We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, based in the Florida, responsible for maximizing expedition cruise sales by cultivating strong travel agent relationships, driving brand awareness, and identifying new agency prospects. This position will also work with Hurtigruten's GSA network in South America and Mexico.
•Maintain effective strategic relationships with travel agent partners’ front line staff, executives, marketing and sales teams
•Maintain and manage applicable sales agreements, including reporting, commissions, back- end incentives and marketing plans
•Set targets, develop, coordinate and implement annual sales/marketing plans with key accounts
•Strengthen relationships and achieve growth with key preferred accounts through regular sales contact and informative updates with respect to their productivity and progress; offer sales assistance when appropriate
•Provide detailed in-house and webinar product/sales training
•Co- organize and host client (consumer) presentations and product information sessions
•Escort familiarization trips for travel agents as necessary
•Identify and develop new business opportunities
•Evaluate ROI of potential trade and consumer shows/events and participate where beneficial. Continually identify new shows/events that would be beneficial to the brand.
•Stay abreast of competitor activities and general trends within the industry. Provide feedback to relevant team members.
•Ensure that weekly sales reports are accurate, detailed, and submitted within the desired time frame using Salesforce
•Utilize Salesforce reports to provide useful information to agents during every call and in regular e-mail communication.
•Actively seek , foster and close group business; coordinate with group sales manager & provide relevant assistance throughout the process
•Manage T&E budget in the most cost effective way, being mindful of established policies.
•College Degree or equivalent relevant experience required
•5+ years travel industry sales and customer service experience required
•Fluent in Spanish required
•Must reside in Florida, Miami/Fort Lauderdale area preferred
