Host Agency
I truly can’t say enough great things about working with The Vacationeer. From the very beginning, I felt supported, valued, and genuinely excited about my career again. I honestly wish I had found this agency sooner. The home-based work environment offers the perfect balance of flexibility and professionalism. I’m able to build my business while still feeling connected to an amazing team of people who are always willing to help, share knowledge, and cheer each other on. The support here is real—not just something said in onboarding. One of the things I appreciate most is the abundance of training opportunities. There is always something new to learn, whether it’s destination knowledge, supplier training, sales strategies, or professional development. I never feel like I’m on my own or expected to “figure it out” without guidance. The management team at The Vacationeer is professional, accessible, and genuinely invested in our success. Questions are answered, feedback is welcomed, and communication is clear. Most importantly, the owner is constantly looking for ways to improve the agency and make things better for all of us—not just from a business standpoint, but from a people-first perspective. The Vacationeer has created a culture where agents feel respected, supported, and empowered to grow. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such a positive, forward-thinking company and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

Host Agency
After nine years as a stay-at-home mom—and with a prior career in a completely unrelated field—I decided to jump headfirst into the travel industry. Before making that leap, I spent several months researching host agencies, and that process ultimately led me to Gifted Travel Network. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an exceptional company. What initially drew me to GTN was a podcast by Meredith Calloway, where she spoke candidly about how being a travel advisor should be a profitable business, not a hobby. She shared lessons from her early career and explained how she intentionally built an agency and culture that teaches advisors to think like entrepreneurs from the very beginning. That message deeply resonated with me. While I knew I loved travel and would thrive in many aspects of this career, the business and entrepreneurial side felt intimidating—and GTN addressed that head-on. As I continued my research and learned more about the Travel MBA program and the long-term mentorship offered beyond it, I knew GTN was the right fit. So far, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The Travel MBA program truly set me up for success—from Jumpstart week, to building a brand, to learning how to confidently and professionally plan complex trips for clients. I have done more business in my first year than I ever anticipated, and I attribute that directly to the education, resources, and connections GTN provides. Because of GTN’s global partnerships and incredible advisor community, I now have the confidence to say “yes” to nearly any destination—China, Japan, Italy, France, and beyond—knowing I have trusted partners and fellow advisors willing to share their expertise. It’s an incredibly supportive environment, and while I work independently and run my own business, I truly feel like I’m part of something bigger. Lastly, the support staff at GTN is outstanding. Their responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine care make an enormous difference and reinforce why choosing Gifted Travel Network was the best decision I could have made.

Host Agency
I have been waiting to write this review so that I could be honest in my thoughts. I have been with Dugans now a year and a half. They have been supportive in so many areas of this business. Helping you to understand the business when you are new, insight into how to handle difficult situations that may arise, growing your business, and so much more. They offer so many ways to be involved and learn how to be the best version of you in this industry. They offer so many chances for hands-on learning with trips; it is up to you to take them up on the opportunity. I have loved meeting so many supportive agents when taking training opportunities and meeting all the management team as well. I am glad that I did my research and picked a host agency that cares about you and not being a number. I will continue to be grateful that they said yes to me. I look forward to the new year with their support to continue to grow my business.

Hi, I’m Steph! I own the site. :)

I’m passionately curious, always up for something new! I love to travel, read/write, and meet new people. I have a sweet Aussie named Fennec and a boisterous Husky mix called Orion that keep me company!

I grew up in the travel industry, my parents’ travel agency was in the basement. Later on, I built and worked at a host agency for years. Sometimes I get so excited about things, I think I leave a trail of rainbows in my footprints! :)
