I joined Nexion in 2012 after listening to a podcast about how to "earn while you learn." I was not a travel agent, nor had I any experience in the travel industry, other than going on a destination wedding that got me thinking about it. I was just in the beginning research phase, wondering if it could even be done. After listening to the podcast I contacted Nexion and signed up for the Power Up program. Wendy Graziano was very kind and helped me get started. Soon after that I attended boot camp training to get a jump start. Nexion and their membership with the consortia has been huge in my start up success. There are many tools available that helped me to show a professional image to my contacts from the very beginning. Their preferred relationship with suppliers has given me access to many tools at a discounted cost, CLIA membership, NACTA membership, my website, my CRM, Travel 42 and others. Also the relationship with vendors is invaluable (top commission brackets and strong support.) Recently the most exciting thing has been their social media tool. I love it, it saves me so much time. Owning and operating your own business can be very overwhelming. You wear a lot of hats. With Nexion, I don't have to be all things, I have people for that!

I have over 20 years in the travel industry. I closed my storefront agency in 2008, when the recession hit, and have been a Nexion member for the last 4 years. It was, in retrospect, a wonderful decision. Nexion provides all the support I need for my mix of corporate and leisure clients. My net income now, is greater than when I had all of the expenses associated with a staff and a storefront location. I have no issues with Nexion. I have been treated as a mutual travel professional. Working with Nexion is a true "partnership".

I started completely new to the travel business in 2004 with Nexion as my host agency. It has been through their training programs, business development advise and support network that I have been able to build a successful home based agency. I highly recommend Nexion to all agents. They have the resources you need to be successful on your own.

I have been in the travel industry for over 14+ years - have always worked for someone. I decided it was time to go out on my own! I shopped around and did extensive research on host agencies - Nexion came through! Nexion is certainly top notch when it comes to service, reliability and accuracy! Commissions are paid promptly twice a month. All questions and concerns are answered within a timely manner and the customer service is superb!

The preferred suppliers are ones that I have used in the past and have had nothing but wonderful service - IE: RCCL, NCL, GOGO Worldwide Vacations, Brendan Vacations, Abercrombie, etc...the list goes on and on!

Starting up your own agency is SUPER easy and Nexion is to thank for that! From the beginning - with all the questions and concerns I had, they made the decision easy for me! I am on the 90% commission tier and find it to be quite perfect for my clientele.

Training is unlimited! There is always a course to sign up for and always new things to learn about selling travel.

I do 75% corporate and 25% leisure and find that the invoicing part is simple and the monthly corporate reporting to my clients is seamless.

I've had a good experience with Nexion. They offer a lot of training, the 90% commission for a $20.00 fee per month is reasonable. You get a free website that I'm not excited about but it works as a landing page and you can upgrade. I've always been paid promply (twice a month now) and any issues or questions I have had have been answered reasonably quickly. I like their preferred suppliers. There are a few that Virtuoso has that I would like them to add but it's a good base of suppliers that are offered. They are a large organization now and perhaps not as quick to be back with you as they used to be but if you call them you'll get an answer. All in all, it's a good organization. Working from home is much harder than most people realize. You have to do the marketing and take care of your clients and the bookwork end and it's difficult to get new clients to trust you when they know you don't have a brick and mortar office. I think this is changing and hopefully won't be as much of an issues as more brick and mortars close or merge. But I think you need to be professional, earn some certifications and try to present yourself as a professional member of your community if you hope to make it.
