The ideal candidate will have experience supporting United States government’s educational organizations conducting bilateral and multilateral engagements and research, communication, exchange of ideas, and training involving foreign military and civilian participants in Africa. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Job Functions
- Support for logistics coordination for outreach and educational programs such as peer-to-peer engagements, workshops, roundtable discussions, seminars, and bilateral level engagements held in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Provide logistics coordination for SMEs as identified by the government from industry and academia who will facilitate discussions at seminars, programs, workshops, panels, and other forums and bring expertise for formulating plans of action and support for national security strategies.
- Provide coordination and logistical planning including foreign language interpretation to deliver programs in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese for events held in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Engage with the DoD community to support seminars and engagements focused on national security topics.
- Facilitate Government and contractor communications and activities necessary to ensure the accomplishment of timely and effective support in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Utilize best standards and proven methodologies from industry and academia to ensure that all program activities are identified, documented, and tracked.
Skills And Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree with one year of proven experience as a Travel Coordinator supporting any DoD agency, DoD regional center, university, or think tank.
- Experience in planning, arranging, and making the necessary travel purchases for participants, including the purchase of airline tickets and ground transportation services for African participants traveling from African countries to the U.S. or to other African countries. Understanding of rules governing DoD’s Joint Travel Regulations.
- Administrative experience to include vendor research and database management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take initiative.
- Ability to work both with a team and independently.
- Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen and able to pass a public trust background check.
- Able to attain a DoD CAC
- Ability to travel overseas to support ACSS programs.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Able to pass and hold a T3 background investigation.
Skills And Qualifications Preferred
- French language fluency
- Active Secret Clearance
- African spoken languages is beneficial.
