About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team and play a role in our financial management and reporting. As a member of the Accounting team, you will be responsible for participating in all accounting activities, financial reporting and compliance. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager, Head of Finance and Strategic Finance and Biz Ops Manager to drive FinOps strategies, provide accurate and timely financial information, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an important position in our very young finance function that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact as we continue to grow and shape the future of our company.

Key Responsibilities

75% Accounting

  • Execute daily, weekly, and month end closing activities related to accounts receivable functions, including maintaining accounts receivable / deferred revenue reconciliations, recording journal entries, roll-forwards, and various monthly analysis. 
  • Involvement in all aspects of financial reporting, including accounting operations, budget maintenance, AR and AP functions.
  • Ensure proper recognition of revenue, including recognition of revenue for multi-element arrangements and deferred revenue
  • Assists operating companies with invoice creation and remittance, and new customer setup in accounting system
  • Cash application and reconciliation. 
  • Manage customer questions and feedback through accounts receivable inbox
  • Develop, execute and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Play a role in the annual audit process assisting the Accounting Manager with all tasks associated with the audit process.
  • Work with other finance and accounting team members and assist with related special projects, ad hoc reporting, and other duties as needed.

25% FP&A & Financial Operations

  • Collaborate with the finance team to monitor the annual budget and provide ongoing analysis of financial performance against targets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Drive process improvements and implement systems to enhance efficiency and scalability of financial operations.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting.
  • 2-5+ years of relevant Big 4 Public Accounting experience or GAAP/public accounting department experience OR +10 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping experience in a smaller business setting.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels.
  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet pressing deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solver with high attention to detail.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Experience working with various systems including, but not limited to: Ramp, Quickbooks, Metabase, Omni, Routable, Mercury, Netsuite, Sage Intacct or Intercom.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel (must be comfortable working with and analyzing large datasets).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience in the travel industry or working at a high growth startup
  • Experience with fintech or SaaS
  • Licensed CPA.
  • Ability to write macros or perform more complex data analytics.
  • US Federal Tax filing experience

Compensation

Compensation range for this role can vary widely depending on experience, and for this role an indicative range is $70,000-$100,000 + equity. Other benefits include:
