I am a new travel advisor with Trevello. It took me several months talking to and comparing several host agencies. This HAR reviews platform also helped me in my quest, and I am glad that I chose Trevello. Their support and assistance are superb. Even the help coming from other agents are amazing. The tools I see that they use help me navigate the travel agency world. The knowledge I need to learn is overwhelming but the people and the tools In Trevello, I think made it easier. Where do I begin to describe Canada's Leading Host Agency I call HOME - After being a retail business owner, I was looking for another career that I could embark upon and eventually lead into my passion of travel and retirement . An opportunity at a home-based franchise for Travel Professionals International (TPI) presented itself and I haven't looked back as I am approaching my 25th year at Trevello/TPI in 2025.
I had no experience in travel except for my own personal travel and it was overwhelming to say the least. However, with the support and training from the Head Office staff at TPI was a godsend. Support is key when you are a newbie and there are no stupid questions when you call into our amazing Inside Sales Support Team.

I had followed TPI from its inception in Canada when I was working as a Leisure Travel Advisor in esteemed agency downtown Toronto. I thought what a wonderful concept - but could not at the time leave the stability of my pay check and benefits. As an industry veteran I certainly did my due diligence and research as I dreamed of one day being able to leave the corporate world of National Brands of Travel Agency 's to live my dream. My number requirement was that my host be a Virtuoso affiliate. I started my own Travel Business 2015 with TPI then now Trevello. I have never looked back. The support is excellent and there when I need it and nobody bothers me. My business is completely my business. I define my niche, how and when I work, the business I say yes to and the business I say no to. If I want to be totally solo or if I want to build my own team. How I scale my business. I am grateful everyday to not have to commute, deal with politics and drama of in person office and corporate environments. I have total control over my day, when I travel, how I travel. The world is truly our oyster and it is my privilege to serve my clients and live my own dreams! Trevello has been a perfect partner for me.
I have been with a few host agencies over my years and Trevello is by far the most supportive host I’ve been with. They provide top support, answer questions quickly and put agents first.
Their programs for commission can’t even be comapared with others.

It has been over 7 years and there have been ups and downs in travel. However, Trevello has been there every step of the way.
I have worked with Trevello Travel Group since 2020, and I am so happy with this agency! I feel like we are all an amazing community of Advisors and Support Staff/Management, who work together to cheer one another on and always are there to help. This business can sometimes be stressful, but knowing that there is always someone in this organization that can help is the best.

I'd love nothing more than to give less stars officially, however that requires me to be in a legal limbo as the request for contracts and personal information as proof required from hostagencyreviews to do so - goes against what I would consider private and confidential information for both myself and the company.
My Review:
This agency is quick to take your money and less than helpful with help achieving your goals.
To date I am in the hole to the tune of nearly $6k. No leads are provided, no strategies to get more leads. Not even an email list. Getting involved with this travel agency should not be attempted unless you have a group of avid travelers that you personally know.
I mentioned the following at the time of start up; that my circle of influence is fairly independent. They book their vacations themselves without problems.
Trevello makes it seem easier than it actually is. I stated I wanted to be making at least $30k within my first year. I was told it was doable even with the above information shared.
Without leads this is a stale business. They tell me not to be so hungry. To simply ask friends and family for support and everything will work itself out. That is not the case with my friends and family.
They provide nearly zero sales strategies and echo back to you your short comings when the ask you questions. You have to beg to have some sort of response. Their Head Office is based in the same city as I. I offered to be a volunteer coffee runner to gain some experience. I requested to be put in contact with other teams so I could learn the ropes. I would have given all my commissions up for any type of lead that would help me in my journey. Deaf ears.
I've heard agencies have their hands bound with independent contractors, yet they take a cut of your service fees if you charge them on top of the cut they take from your commissions.
I've beat up my circle of influence, done door to door marketing to no avail.
If I was told that I needed experience in the travel field instead of 'no experience? No problem' I would have happily walked away with out dumping my savings into this and simply opened an affiliate account with Expedia.
I constantly have people tell me they found their own bookings cheaper online anyways. What's the point of all this if you don't have solid leads that require your help.
I failed myself by being duped by the sales team here at Trevello / TPI. I wish I would have been asked to do some homework and evaluate my circle before embarking on this endeavor. But that's what they're good at - Sales.. Their sales. Not yours.
I began my career with TPI in 2008 as a complete novice but with their training (one week, in-person back then), I was given the tools and knowledge I needed to start from scratch. I eventually climbed up their Velocity levels to the highest achievable, Chairman's Circle, in 2017, something I never thought was possible!
In 2019, I felt they lacked technology advances to keep up with industry trends, as well as commission structure. I signed up with another more lucrative agency that seemed to offer better opportunities for growth. However, I soon learned, what I gained in technology I lost in support. TPI/Trevello's inside sales and accounting support is unmatched! Without this backbone, I can't do what I do best.
When Covid virtually shut the industry down, I was forced, like many other agents, to pause my business.
In 2023, as I watched the industry make a reliable re-entry, I knew I wanted the support I once had and decided to rejoin what had now become Trevello. Once I saw the many changes they had to made to their technology, the biggest being their online chat feature with inside sales (no more calling in!), I signed up again and have never looked back. They continue to shine in their support and responsiveness to tickets and emails, and have the easiest procedures for me to operate my custom groups which is the bulk of my business.
Their focus is quality over quantity - rest assured their focus is on the growth of their agents, not the number of agents!
