When I was curious about moving into the travel industry ten years ago, a trusted friend told me that Brownell was the way to go, and they were absolutely right! I found the mentoring program and was lucky enough to be selected for the exclusive class. I was properly trained, and was able to learn as I built my business in the first year. After graduating from the mentoring year, I have always been very pleased with Brownell.
Not only am I surrounded by some of the top advisors in the business, I feel constantly supported by the hosting team and my colleagues. Especially in the early years when I ran into bumps, or had issues come up, the hosting team always reassured me, pointed me in the right direction, and had my back. I am grateful they are always there for the little and big questions.
I'm also grateful for their support with all of my accounting, helping me develop my relationships within the business, and nurture clients. The marketing is also extremely helpful, I would love to do more of this but I just don't have the time, so I'm glad they are able to help me out.

After much research, I felt sure that Brownell was the right host agency for me. And after the start of our in-person mentor week, I knew that I had made the best choice. Brownell is a true community that fosters an incredible network of agents that act as a team instead of competitors. They share information and advice, and they actively get to know the ICs. The mentor program is second to none! Not only do they focus on the fundamentals of selling travel, but also on marketing, business planning, relationship building and above all else the art of graciousness. They are among the most respected agencies in the business. When I reach out to a supplier and mention that I am an affiliate of Brownell Travel, I am treated like a VIP. I was set up for success from the beginning and during my first year, my sales far exceeded my expectations!
I was part of Brownell's first mentoring class and can't imagine calling any other host agency my home. As an organization, they are collaborative, incredibly supportive of their independent contractors and always leading the way with ground breaking initiatives in the industry. Additionally, the Hosting team is extremely supportive of the IC community, and their lightening fast response times never waiver. Communication across the IC community is also a top priority for the Hosting team. As a result, we have robust processes in place to facilitate proactive communications on a daily basis. We receive daily company updates, news updates, and most importantly to me, we have an active platform in place where any IC can go to ask for advice pertaining to new destinations, processes, etc. We all support each other, which makes for a wonderful working environment!

What can I say...I found my family when I found Brownell. As a 17 year financial services professional I knew I would need some training when it came to starting my second career. After extensive research I discovered that Brownell was the ONLY answer for me. I was lucky to be accepted into their mentoring program which could be considered more of business consulting/training relationship. They spent and enormous amount of time with me to bring me up to speed not only on the industry but also on how to establish and excel at running my own business. They still operate in that capacity for me as I am learning new things everyday in this role.
I don't have a benchmark for comparison but I know that I couldn't do it without Brownell. Just having their name behind me brings enthusiastic greetings (and even hugs sometimes) from vendors, hoteliers, etc when I first meet a new partner. My clients are spoiled because I am part of Brownell.

Almost 5 years ago, I timidly took the plunge into the world of luxury travel. Coming off of my first business (an online care package company), my ego could not support pouring my heart and soul into another business with a short life span due to poor support. From the start, Brownell's Hosting team assured me that that would not be the case. They were right, and I have never looked back! The positive attitude, support, and family atmosphere of Brownell is what brings me to the office (my home office, but it feels like they are here with me!) every day. When the going gets tough and I have an issue with a supplier or a client, they have my back. They keep me in line from an Accounting/Commissions standpoint with reports, and support from a Marketing perspective. From a business standpoint, suppliers are willing to work with me due to the high volume of business we together as a team bring in, giving me much more "service buying power" for my clients. The only gripe I have is that the extended family I have received through the Brownell Hosting Agency is all over the country, and not in my own town! If only we could have weekly dinners together, it would be the icing on the cake. For now, I'll settle for get togethers a couple times each year :).
