30 Years Later: Why Uniglobe Travel Center Is Investing More Than Ever in the Future of Travel Entrepreneurs

Last updatedJuly 31, 2026

Thirty years is a long time in the travel industry.

We’ve weathered airline commission cuts, economic downturns, the rise of online booking, a global pandemic, and an unprecedented wave of technological change. Through every shift, one thing has remained constant. Successful travel advisors do not succeed because they have access to the most suppliers. They succeed because they have the right support, education, technology, and community behind them.

As Uniglobe Travel Center celebrates its 30th anniversary as a host agency, we are not simply looking back on where we’ve been. We are investing in where the travel advisor profession is headed.

Quality Has Always Been More Important Than Quantity

Many host agencies measure success by the number of advisors they recruit.

We’ve always measured success differently.

For three decades, our focus has been on attracting entrepreneurial professionals who are committed to building long term businesses, not simply selling travel. Whether someone is launching their first agency or is an experienced advisor looking to elevate their business, our goal is to help them become more knowledgeable, more profitable, and more valuable to their clients.

That philosophy has shaped every decision we’ve made over the past 30 years.

Raising the Standard Through Education

One of the clearest examples of that commitment is the evolution of MentorU.

Today’s MentorU Travel Academy is far more than an onboarding program. It combines comprehensive business education with personalized one-on-one mentoring from experienced industry professionals who understand the real challenges advisors face.

Travel advisors do not just learn how to book travel. They learn how to build a sustainable business, develop their niche, market themselves effectively, increase profitability, and create long term client relationships.

Because great advisors are not born. They are developed.

Investing in Technology That Actually Makes Advisors More Successful

Technology has become one of the biggest differentiators between thriving agencies and those struggling to keep pace.

That is why we have made one of the largest technology investments in our company’s history.

Our new partnership with Tern will provide advisors with a modern CRM and itinerary platform while simultaneously transforming our internal back-office operations. Together, these systems create what we believe will become one of the travel industry’s most complete front to back-office ecosystems, connecting advisor workflows, client management, operations, and agency support more seamlessly than ever before.

At the same time, we have partnered with Travel Wits to bring powerful air and hotel booking capabilities to our non GDS advisors, giving them access to professional booking tools that help them compete more effectively while simplifying the booking process.

Our goal is not technology for technology’s sake.

It is giving advisors more time to build relationships, generate sales, and deliver exceptional client experiences.

Luxury Leadership Matters

As a proud Virtuoso host agency, we are committed to helping advisors grow in the luxury travel market while providing access to the relationships, preferred partnerships, and exclusive experiences that today’s travelers increasingly expect.

Luxury continues to evolve, and advisors need a host agency that evolves alongside it.

Recognition Is Meaningful, But It Is Never the Goal

Over the years, we have been honored to receive incredible recognition from across the industry.

Being named ASTA Host Agency of the Year four times, and earning a place on the Travel Weekly Power List year after year, are accomplishments we are extremely proud of because they reflect the trust placed in us by our advisors, partners, and industry peers.

But awards are ultimately a byproduct, not the mission.

Our mission has always been helping travel advisors build stronger businesses.

The Next 30 Years Begin Now

The travel industry looks very different than it did in 1996, and it will continue changing faster than ever before.

Artificial intelligence, automation, evolving consumer expectations, and new technologies will reshape how advisors operate. We believe those changes represent opportunity, not uncertainty, for advisors who are supported by the right host agency.

As we celebrate 30 years, we are not standing still.

We are continuing to invest in education, technology, supplier partnerships, and the professional development of travel advisors because we believe the future belongs to advisors who treat this as a true profession.

For three decades, our focus has never been becoming the largest host agency.

Our focus has been building one of the best.

And we are just getting started.
