Uniglobe Travel Designers (UTD) is a minority, women owned travel management company specializing in both corporate and leisure travel. At Uniglobe Travel Designers, clients are at the heart of everything we do.
UTD is currently seeking an experienced Leisure Travel Consultant to support our leisure travel clients’ travel requests in an efficient and professional manner. This position uses creativity, adaptability; efficiency and accuracy combined with teamwork and a great attitude that makes it possible to provide the highest levels of attentive service to our growing leisure travel clientele. The Leisure Travel Consultant maximizes profitability for the traveler, while meeting their needs and delivers best possible results by using knowledge of the traveling process to anticipate and solve any issues that may arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a positive, cheerful approach to all clients – offer service above and beyond client expectations.
Establish and anticipate client needs on first contact – qualify by leading customer conversations with questions and treat each inquiry with patience and focus. • Recommend and provide efficient and alternate routes, lowest available fares, and booking class, exchange rates, and travel services.
Maintain current knowledge of promotions and specials and proactively advise clients of savings opportunities.
Offer professional and courteous client relations by managing a prompt and accurate response to telephone and email communications.
Process client requests for domestic/international reservations. Make seat assignments, request special meals, etc.
Ensure optimum service at all phases of reservations.
Communicate information to clients accurately and appropriately.
Keep clients up to date on travel regulations, such as passport and visa requirements, etc.
Understand and properly use airline terminology, codes, vendor rules and regulations, resource guides, books, and industry contacts.
Maintain customer profiles, ensuring special requests and reward program information.
Monitor, sort, and work global distribution systems (GDS) queues daily to maintain quality control.
Ensure that all reservations are processed in accordance with established customer policies.
Perform duties for the owners at an urgent level (run invoices, book flights, research options, etc.)
Moves market share for Uniglobe Travel Designers' preferred suppliers (for example Delta, United, and RCCL).
Maintain personal sales and revenue targets as established on an individual basis.
Achieve company required service level goals related to all business.
Offer assistance to team members when needed – including training of new employees.
Take initiative to build clientele through working with Marketing, participating in local events such as tradeshows or networking groups, leveraging social media, etc.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years’ experience as a Leisure Travel Consultant.
Proficiency with a Global Distribution System (GDS) is preferred (UTD utilizes Amadeus).
High energy and thrives in fast paced growth business environments.
Personable, presentable, service-oriented, accurate, efficient, and the ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
Uncompromising integrity with well-developed emotional intelligence.
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
PC skills, including MS Office Suite.
Attention to detail in execution; gets into the weeds to fully understand the problem and can quickly identify errors and roadblocks to achieving success.
Critical thinking and time management skills to evaluate different solutions and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to achieve goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
The ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Provide the information that people need to know to make decisions.
Continued interest in learning about the travel industry, and to help the business continue to grow.
