About Plaza Travel

History

Plaza Travel is a storefront agency run by the Orens family since 1985, at which time there were 6 employees and 3 computer terminals. The company now counts a staff of over 80 agents. The Orens family is still involved with the day-to-day running of the Plaza Travel.

Plaza Travel's Host Agency Program

The host agency division of Plaza Travel works with both new and experienced agents. A suite of tools are offered to both corporate and leisure agents, including Plaza Travel's in-house tools, as well as those offered by their consortium, Signature Travel Network.

There is a nominal start up fee to join Plaza Travel's independent contractor network, but no monthly fees. Some of the offerings for hosted agents do have fees, but they are minimal.

Marketing:

A white-label website program, co-op dollar opportunities, and marketing programs like direct mail, email marketing, and travel magazines are available to ICs.

Plaza Travel will also help agents by doing online or in-person presentation to help their independent agents in closing group business.

GDS/ Corporate Agents:

Experienced GDS agents have access to both Apollo and Sabre, and online booking tools for corporate clients. In addition, full automation and quality control for all PNR's are available for corporate agents. These systems check for lower fares, look for better seat assignments, work closed waitlist segments, as well as issue tickets, E-mail itineraries and receipts.
