My background was in Customer Service and Sales, but I had no experience in the travel world, aside from visiting Disney annually. I started out just working with Disney, but quickly starting learning about selling Universal and other destinations. I was stuck in my comfort zone for quite a while and the owner began to challenge us to step out of our comfort zone, stop focusing on price and start focusing on value - that is when you will give your clients what they really want and enhance their experience. This helped me tremendously.
I was always shy about asking questions and didn't want to bother anyone with my questions until I realize just how helpful everyone there was if you asked. It's impossible to know every destination in the beginning, but help was only a Facebook message, email or phone call away.
The agency is always trying to improve the systems, support, training, and databases. My sales have consistently improved each year. Don't get me wrong, it's hard work! It's going out there, advertising, posting on my business page and getting referrals. Once training is done, there isn't a magical list of clients that are given to you. The majority of quotes will not get booked, but servicing the ones that do, will bring in more through referrals.
This is family agency filled with real people who share their ups and downs, good days and bad, but we are here to lean on each other whether that means being their when Covid hit and all of our trips were canceled, pitching in to help someone's community that was hit by a hurricane, supporting our coworkers who they lost a loved one, and just being there for our coworkers, who have become friends.

MDV immediately started with the love bombing of the promise of a supportive team and nurturing environment, but I quickly discovered I made a huge mistake. You are treated more like an undervalued employee than an IC with expectations that are difficult to meet… and all for only 50% commission. There is a definite hierarchy based on popularity with the mean girls on top. Being made fun of or torn down in agency emails by being called “lazy” and “stupid” was a normal email from the agency owner.
Then there is the agent Facebook group. We were use to being called idiots and to hear the owner make fun of our BDM’s (especially our Disney one.) The owner shared screenshots of clients getting fake vaccine passports and just laughed about it. One time a racist meme was posted in the agent group and was never called out because it was posted by a “leader” and the agency is 99% white. If someone asked a genuine question it was often met with “redo training.”
I watched fellow agents get their clients stolen and given to one of the “leaders” so she could reach her personal sales goals. You’re constantly told that the owner and team is there to help, but from personal experience she immediately jumps to conclusions and gaslights you, all while being aired in the Facebook group for other agents to watch. The owner is a bully, plain and simple. I’m genuinely wondering how this company has lasted this long with the shady and questionable illegal business practices I have witnessed. Please don’t fall victim to this toxic agency.

We never want our ICs to feel undervalued, and pride ourselves on the positive feedback we get from our agents on the support we offer. When it comes to commissions, we use market guidelines to offer competitive options for our ICs along with bonus rewards and travel perks.
