Mickey’s Dream Vacations

I have been working as an agent for a few years now. During the pandemic this was a hard business to get into. We were always given opportunities to learn new locations, learn more about existing locations, and obtain new certificates. We took the time when no one could travel to get ready for when they could. Since travel has opened back up everyone supports one another, and shared info about new restrictions, and the dropping of restrictions. There are alway opportunities to further knowledge, and become a better agent. You have to be willing to put yourself out there to be successful, and the boss will always tell you to know your worth!!!

I have been a travel agent with Mickey's Dream Vacations since October of 2013 and I am happy that this is where I landed. The support from our owner and the team is irreplaceable. I know I would not be successful had I ended up anywhere else. Everyone brings a different experience to the agency and the knowledge is always shared. I love that we can celebrate our successes as well as hold each other up when things don't go so well.

After having very positive experiences working with the owner on several personal vacations, I replied to a call out for agents when looking to expand the agency. After speaking with the owner about working in the travel industry part time, I felt this was the right move for me. Within a month I was booking my first client. Planning Disney vacations is what attracted me initially but I quickly learned there is much more to the travel industry. Training through this agency is organized and thorough. Additionally, they ensure that agents remain current with updated certifications. The leaders of the agency have extensive knowledge and are willing to share to help each agent be successful. Goals set are reasonable and attainable. The business is run with integrity and sound practices with consistent expectations for all ICs. Access to FAMs, agency trips, team meetings and events are all part of what makes this a great agency to be part of!

I started working with Mickey’s Dream Vacations because I love traveling to Disney and had been helping friends plan their own trips. I took a leap of faith joining this team and I am so glad I did. I feel like I’ve got the support that I need when I have questions or need help with anything. We are given the opportunity to go on FAM trips to experience different locations. Even though being a travel agent is a part time gig for me, I feel as though I am treated equally to the other agents. I know that I am not one of the top producing agents, but I am given as many opportunities as the best agents. I find myself growing and developing each year because of the support that they give me.

I have worked at Mickey’s Dream Vacations for over 3 years now. Before I started, I had been a stay-at-home mom for 15 years & I took the job because I had already been helping my friends plan trips to Disney, so I wanted to get paid for it. The job description had said only 10-15 hours per week were needed so that seemed like the perfect way to ease back into the work force. Honestly, I picked the wrong company for that to work for me because I immediately fell in love with it. The job, the owner, the other agents, and everything about this company was amazing and I wanted to give so much more to it.

It started with the extensive training program which was both awesome and overwhelming. It was so much information, but it really prepared you for the insanity. This job is not for the average person. You have to be fully committed and ready to work to really push yourself to the top. The training program helped to illustrate that from day 1.

You also need to have a great support behind you to succeed. That is where Mickey’s Dream Vacations separates itself. There is not one person in the company that doesn’t want you to succeed. The leadership at the top is always pushing you out of your comfort zone to grow your business. I was perfectly happy to just book only Disney vacations but the owner, Meg, pushed me early on to become an expert in other areas like cruises and all-inclusives. The other agents all push you to want to be better. There is a wonderful environment set up where we can all support each other while still wanting to be the best.

It’s not just about being pushed though. I have never asked a question or for help and not received it immediately and whole heartedly. Everyone is always there to help. Not only that but we’re all also there for a laugh or an ear to listen. The company is really a bunch of friends who happen to work together. We are all across the country and most have never met before starting this job but the atmosphere that is offered here allows you to be yourself, to be successful, and to become family. I can’t imagine working for another agency. When you find your home, you settle in and enjoy the comforts.

I hit the Agency jackpot when I found Mickey’s Dream Vacations. I took a chance on a Facebook Ad I saw’ll online one day. I had always dreamed of working for Disney in some capacity. Without uprooting my family from Seattle, becoming a Travel Agent who specializes in Disney was my best chance at that dream. Meg, the owner, is the most supportive, intelligent, intuitive person. She refuses to stand still, she is constantly innovating new ways to help the agency and you grow. The agency is a diverse group of travel agents from across the country. It is very refreshing to see people from all backgrounds being welcome in such a large group. Leadership of Lisa, Jen, Michelle, and Kristy are always welcoming. I can message any one of these women and get an answer back. Being a travel agent is hard work. It’s not all churros and dole whips. If you join, hoping to check your email once a week and then make $50,000 during year one. This is not the job for you. If you are great at talking to people, you pay attention to the details, you respond to emails promptly, you take advantage of learning opportunities, and you engage in group conversations. This is the job for you. It takes time to build up your customer base, learn the industry. My advice is to dive in with both feet, if you just stick your toe in the water, you won’t go anywhere.

I have been with Mickey’s Dream Vacations/MDVTrips for a little over two years. I can honestly say this team is amazing. Our leader is the best too! I have felt incredibly supported since day one!
There is an extensive training program, open door policy, and a great team to bounce ideas off of each other. We are often having trainings, learning new ways to help our clients, and sharing techniques. It’s so helpful to not feel alone in this industry.
Since COVID the Travel Industry is constantly changing. But, with this team and our leaders we have been able to untangle the constantly changing restrictions, support each other during this unpredictable time, and learn to be flexible. We are fortunate to be able to take team trips to learn about different locations, bond together in person, and also enjoy the fact our job includes traveling!
This is an incredible team that is constantly learning and growing. I have also been supported even when my personal life has been incredibly crazy. I have my leaders and other agents that take the time to be family, be my point person while traveling, and even help when I just need an extra set of eyes/ears.

I started working with Mickey’s Dream Vacations at the start of 2019. Prior to becoming a travel agent I had been to 24 countries, Disney parks around the world tons of times, universal, and sailed with a few different cruise companies. I had tons of prior knowledge and I was excited to earn and plan trips for people. I loved the training and continue to ask for more and more opportunities. Whenever I see something new that I can train to sell I jump on that opportunity. The owner, team leaders, and the training coordinator are always quick with support of these new opportunities. The leadership team are always available for help.

Aside from the leadership team I have met so many wonderful people who are all over the country. In our agency social media group we are always supportive of each other.

2020 was an extremely rough year. It was the first year I personally could set business expectations (after spending months of 2019 in training). It was rough canceling bookings, navigating covid protocols, and understanding travel restrictions. I think because of all the time brainstorming and helping each other out is why all of us have soared since travel domestically and internationally has opened up. We cheer each other on when we reach milestones and business goals. Instead of separating during the difficult times we got stronger and got closer.

Mickey’s Dream Vacations is a wonderful company to work for and it’s filled with so many amazing agents!

I have been with this company for 3 years. I cannot imagine working for a more supportive agency. I went in with no experience and was pleasantly surprised by the intensive training, support and friendships that were offered. The owner provides support with all aspects of the business and does it with genuine care for our growth and success. I recently was at a conference with many other agents from different types of agencies and hearing their stories made me realize just how lucky I am to have stumbled upon this agency. I am successful only because of the support that the owner and the other agents have shown, and I am content because of the friendships I have made along the way. This is a great group who are there for each other. No question is too small or too stupid and we all learn from one another. This agency is fair with commission percentages compared to others I have heard about and they push you to be better at your job. I am very happy working for Mickeys Dream Vacations.

I started my journey as a travel agent with this company in 2020. I have nothing but positive things to say. From the training that I was given to the leadership shown from Meg and so many others, I have become very successful and have learned so much. I have felt supported and listened to whenever I needed help, have been given countless training opportunities, and as a bonus have made some great friends from fellow co-workers. I started my journey as a travel agent right before covid happened and can honestly say it was Meg and the team at Mickey’s Dream Vacations that not only helped me get through the past two years but made them successful too.
