About Fareconnect.com

About us

Fareconnect.com Inc was established in 2003 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Fareconnect entered the market as an OTA business focussing heavily on Western Canada online sales. Over time as competition with larger OTA’s grew in this space, Fareconnect expanded into brick-and-mortar stores first in Alberta, then Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Fareconnect also expanded into adding Home -Based Agents who were associated with the brick-and-mortar locations.

After a change of ownership in 2014, Fareconnect decided to restructure the company and move to a more centralized organization to support and recruit Independent contractors. In 2015, Fareconnect reduced its number of stores to two locations in Medicine Hat Alberta and Winnipeg Manitoba. These stores restructured to add training and support of all IC’s, as the company transitioned to a fully functionable Host Agency.

To better support its IC’s in 2019, Fareconnect consolidated all its operation to one location in Winnipeg. During this time, Fareconnect increased its staff to include a dedicated Training and Social Media managers. These managers continued Fareconnect’s vision in providing support to agents by creating a Fareconnect proprietary Resource Site and a Training Platform that provides a Fareconnect certification program for new agents to the industry. As Fareconnect looks to the future, Fareconnect transitioned its Back-Office to Travcom which allowed the integration of Client Linq to the agents’ toolbox. This program is very forward thinking and is designed specifically for IC’s by providing them a Travel Agent desktop online. Fareconnect’s motto is “If you succeed, we succeed!”. In keeping up with that motto, Fareconnect continues that have the lowest monthly fees in the Host Agency business while priding itself on the support and dedication it provides to all of its agents.

2021 and forward

During the most difficult year for travel in the 21st century, Fareconnect came together to focus on developing and refining our agents skills in order to prepare them for when travel picks up again. We hosted webinars about branding, selling and host numerous suppliers in order to keep our agents at the top of their game. We recently just hosted out annual Training Conference virtually where we had over 80 agents attend sessions covering an arrange of topics from Selling in 2021, Client Profiling, FIT Training and many other workshops.
