AH-Maz-Ing! The freedom this company has provided is phenomenal! I worked in corporate America for almost 30 years and lost my 25-year career due to COVID - they closed our local office and eliminated my position.
The atmosphere, support, perks, training, and friendships I've found here are like nothing I've ever experienced. Everyone wants everyone to succeed and it really shows considering most of the training is done by volunteers - they're not getting paid extra for sharing their knowledge with us! I earn 80% of all paid-out commissions, I've earned my IATAN card, I've earned free cruises, and discounted hotel rates, I've even joined the OPTIONAL mentorship program (the "hybrid" MLM model) and earn residual income every month by sharing this opportunity with others.
The best part? I get to stay home and work at my own pace, and I don't have to put my kid on a bus every morning so that I can drive to an office and work 8 hours and ask for permission to use my earned vacation time.
The other great thing about this - you can come in and try it out risk-free - they actually offer a 10-day money-back guarantee. Come in, get your certification, and try out some of the training, if within the first 10 days - you don't feel the opportunity is right for you, cancel and get your full refund.
I joined the team around two years ago, coming in with little knowledge about host agencies or the travel industry, apart from my passion for exploring new places! Once I discovered that I could enjoy the benefits and discounts of being a travel agent, I decided to take the plunge. I couldn't be happier with my choice. In my first year, I focused on booking my own travels. Then, last year, I began arranging trips for others occasionally. There are countless training opportunities and events available, which can feel overwhelming. Fortunately, all the training sessions are completely free, and my professional organization allows me to count these trainings as PDUs! It truly is a win-win situation for me! This year, I attended the convention, and I know that next year, I won't miss it for anything! It's amazing that they are able to trust individuals using their name to get access to the vendors and all other travel agents that this seriously and the team we have formed is amazing, I will never leave! Plus, I do not have an hourly boss cutting down my throat so that he can get ahead with his career and botch mine! I am my OWN DESTINY here and Archer Travel makes sure I succeed!
I wanted to take a minute to talk about Archer because let’s be real, they sometimes get a bad rap for being labeled as an MLM. Here’s the deal—Yes, you can mentor other agents if you want to, but NO, it’s not something you have to do!
I genuinely love being part of this company. Ron Archer and Reggie Rivas are so supportive—they even have an open-door (or open-phone!) policy. It’s a big company, but it still feels like a close-knit family.
Archer offers tons of training opportunities, but it’s up to each agent to show up, put in the effort, ask questions, and take advantage of what’s available. Honestly, I think some of the negative reviews come from people expecting everything to be handed to them. At the end of the day, this is a business opportunity. The tools and resources are there—you just have to use them.
And let me tell you, the support from this host agency? Absolutely incredible!
While we are considered a hybrid, we are first and foremost travel agents. Because many of us love what we do and only found this amazing opportunity because someone invited us to hear about it, we choose to team build. Archer has been fabulous! The support we get from everyone is amazing. We even have Ron Archer’s phone number! I will say that some of the info on this site is incorrect as we receive 80% of the commission and we do have E & O insurance. There are daily trainings both from Archer as well as our teams so you are always in the know. Help is always a phone call, zoom or email away.
Hi Cynthia!
Just reaching out regarding the information about Archer and E & O insurance, etc. The host agencies are responsible for updating their own information here. You should reach out to Archer if it's incorrect.
Thanks!
Abbey and the HAR team
I came on here to review Archer since honestly they get a bad rap for supposedly being an MLM. Is there an option to mentor other agents? Yes. Do you have to? No! This past year I was awarded the #1 travel booker for Archer. I love this company. Ron Archer and Reggie Rivas are here for their agents. They have an open door (phone call) policy. It is a big company with a small compay family feel. Archer offers so many trainings. It is up to the agent though to get themselves to the trainings, to learn, to ask questions. Many times the people writing the negative reviews want everything handed to them. This is a business opportunity. The tools are there but we can't force people to use them. 2023 I booked $900,000 of travel with the support of this AMAZING host agency!
Hi Jodi!
Just reaching out to clarify that Archer is what we call an MLM hybrid, since the group has an essential relationship with Evolution.
Best,
Abbey and the HAR Team
I've been with Archer Travel for just over nine months, and it's been an incredible journey! Dreaming of a career in travel, I spent years booking trips for friends and family, wishing I could turn my passion into a profession. When the opportunity with Archer presented itself, I jumped at it.
Best decision ever! The training and support I've received from my team have been exceptional. I've even transitioned into training new and seasoned agents myself, which I absolutely love. Beyond the invaluable knowledge and resources, I've built incredible friendships and connections within the Archer community.
The team is incredibly responsive and supportive, always ready to assist with any questions or challenges. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to build my travel business with Archer!
Bad company will not refund my monthly payment I paid. They're misleading in saying they give you marketing when they don't. I will file a complaint to the BBB and let people know on facebook. I would not go with this company as agent or a travel customer. They mislead on what an agent gets when they sign up and then don't want to refund the monthly payment.
I joined Archer knowing it was an MLM but being assured that I didn't have to participate in the team building and that the training was very good. Needless to say, I was lied to. They didn't bug me about team building, but the training is awful. The "travel agent certification" took me about an hour, I heard nothing about duty of care until I found it on my own months later, when I had issues logging into suppliers or needed guidance, the answer was usually some sort of go read the directions. Early on I had an issue with returning rental cars to a different destination on VAX. When I asked how to do this, I got no guidance. Turned out to be a simple fix of choosing the rental company before choosing the return location. After the ridiculous "certification", I was told to just start registering with suppliers. No guidance on where to start or which would be the most useful. Find a niche was the only response when I asked. How do you do that when you know next to nothing about the industry? How do I find that niche? Silence. There are lots of webinars from suppliers and destination tourist boards, but nothing about ethics, business development, how to market was essentially ‘post on Facebook’. The problem is that Evolution puts team building before actual travel, so even if you are on a team that does want to book, they aren’t given the resources or support. No one, from my mentor (who was also my good friend) to my up-line, ever checked to see how I was managing, what I needed, or how I was progressing. I did most of my training from other sources on my own. Archer didn’t allow us to use most of the tools in Travel Leaders, which is unfortunate because that was the best tool I received. TLN’s training helped me a lot. Recently, my mentor passed away with clients still needing help. I stepped up to help finish the trips after being asked. Unfortunately, other personal circumstances meant that I also needed to change hosts. Instead of allowing me to administer the trips and keeping the bookings at Archer, they got very nasty with me. Archer did nothing to help all but one of the clients. No one contacted the clients even after one client contacted them about how to proceed. After joining my new host, I was shocked at how much more support I got. The Facebook group is so much more active with suggestions on suppliers, destinations, hotels, info from fam trips, and much more. Archer does not support its agents past the monthly fee and they won’t support clients when something goes wrong. I made a mistake in believing the lies from Archer agents so you don’t have to. Don’t waste your money, time, or integrity with Archer.

The review offered here by Host Agency Reviews, is actually pretty inaccurate of what Archer Travel offers its agents. First, this is not an MLM and in no way are you required to mentor or recruit agents. Second, there are way more than 2-3 trainings offered a week. There are at least 5-6 a day which include everything from marketing your business, supplier trainings, sales trainings, and more. They will also sign on agents with little to no experience. The thing that most people do not understand, is this is a business opportunity and not a job. If you do not put work into finding your clients, you will not find them. Archer fully provides training to help you learn how to do this. Yes, there is an opportunity to mentor other agents and earn residual from that. However, it’s not an easy process and if those are are not booking and making commission, you don’t make anything from them either. Archer’s commission payout is 80% to the agent. 10% goes to Archer and 10% the to mentor. You can only make money off your direct downline, which separates this from an MLM.
Hi Adrienne,
Thanks so much for your review of your experience at Archer. Just to clarify, we don't review any of the host agencies, but for companies structured like Archer (an MLM-host hybrid), we do make sure that people entering into the agreement with those companies understand that there is an MLM component to the company. If someone thinks that model is a good model for them, then they are more than welcome to choose it, we just want to make sure they have their eyes open on how the MLM model works.
We consider any time that you make money off a downline, get residuals, etc., that that company is an MLM, even if you aren't required to recruit advisors.
I joined Archer Travel after COVID forced the closer of my 23 year old Permit Expediting company. When I heard about the option to work in travel I got pretty excited. My wife and I have traveled all over the world and the thought of doing it and making money was intrigued. So I started looking at all the different agencies listed on the website. I spent a lot of time reading reviews, talking with other agents and comparing the pros and cons of each company. There really was no question of which one to choose. Archer Travel pays the highest commissions in the industry, they are considered a favorite of all the major travel vendors in the Industry. There was no cost to become certified, no cost for training and I could get my CLIA card as soon as I become certified. They also allowed me to get my IATAN Card after only making $5000 in commission. No other agency can make these claims. Do you know how easy it is to make $5000 in commission when you are getting 80% of the paid commissions? I did it my first month. Their support is unlike anything I have experienced. As far as your claim goes, they are no where close to being an MLM, the first two words of an MLM are Multi Level. Where do you see that in this company? We get paid to mentor others and that comes from a profit pool much like the airline industry but, we get paid monthly instead of annually. I have owned 2 very successful companies in my lifetime and if I knew then what I know now, I would have done this a long time ago.
Just a note from HAR here. Appreciate you sharing your experience but wanted to clarify a few things. The $5000 in commission rule is set at the IATAN/CLIA level so every agency should be having that threshold for their advisors.
In terms of the MLM question. We classify Archer as an MLM hybrid, which means they have a host agency division and an MLM division. Archer Travel's MLM branch is Evolution Travel. They're very transparent about their partnership. You can find more information on Archer's website: https://www.archertravel.com/evolution.
