I recently celebrated my one-year anniversary with Fora Travel, and I am very happy with my host agency decision. Coming into the industry with no prior travel advisor experience, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found the right fit in my very first host agency.

I also think Fora has done an excellent job creating an environment that works for both newer advisors and more established ones. As someone who came in with years of industry experience and an already established business, it was important to find a host agency that felt forward-thinking while still respecting advisor independence and professionalism.
No host agency is going to be the right fit for every advisor depending on their goals and business model, but Fora has been an excellent fit for me and the direction I want my business to continue growing in.
In looking for a host agency, I reviewed many different companies. I read reviews. I viewed their websites. I investigated everything I could. I was impressed with what Fora had to offer.
The first thing that appealed to me was their overall look and vibe. Their website and materials had a modern, streamlined look that visually appealed to modern travelers. So many of the other agency websites looked so cluttered and out of date. Fora has a clean, calm, serene, yet luxe vibe that is immediately appealing. It makes you WANT to travel.
Fora also offered great tools and great resources for a great price to independent agents, especially brand new agents. Their training is top notch! The training modules are clear, concise, and available to do on your own schedule and timeline. And the training doesn't stop after the initial signup. A dedicated agent can KEEP LEARNING long after the signup process. There are hosted trainings that can be accessed anytime. There are also weekly and daily trainings, drop-in sessions, trainings from industry experts, and more.
The fees are also doable and flexible for a new agent. You can pay monthly or annually. So a new agent doesn't feel locked in with high fees for a long period of time without knowing if its something they can do or not or if they will even like the agency or not.
Lastly, Fora creates a supportive environment for all of their agents through Cohorts, drop-in sessions, hosted forums, AI tools, and more. I have been very impressed with what the agency offers to all of its agents, especially to agents like me who are brand new to the industry!
While I'm still learning and growing and building my travel business, I am very impressed with my chosen agency and so glad that I chose Fora! I do not regret my decision AT ALL! I would gladly encourage anyone interested in starting their journey as a travel advisor to give Fora a chance to earn your trust! They earned mine and continue to earn it every single day!

Honestly, I wish someone had given me a heads-up before I signed with Fora Travel. They have a really polished brand, but my actual experience with them was a nightmare.
The first red flag was when I ran into a booking that looked suspicious. Like any responsible advisor, I reached out to their team for a little professional guidance. Instead of getting the mentorship you'd expect from a host agency, they basically turned it on me, said I "should have known better," and ended up terminating my membership shortly after I asked for help. It felt like I was being penalized just for trying to do the right thing and protect the agency's integrity.
What really shocked me, though, was their approach to my clients. It appeared to me that they were planning to reach out to my personal client list directly, which felt like a blatant attempt to keep my hard-earned business in their ecosystem. As an independent contractor, your clients are your lifeblood, so seeing a host agency try to go over your head like that is incredibly concerning.
To make matters worse, after I moved on, I found out from others in the industry that Fora had apparently reached out to disparage my name and professional reputation. In my opinion, it was a clear attempt to sabotage my future. If you value your clients and your reputation, I’d seriously suggest looking at other host agencies that actually respect their advisors’ independence and don't try to undermine them the moment they leave.
UK Advisors: Please Read Before Joining Fora – A Cautionary Review
If you’re a UK-based travel advisor considering joining Fora, I’d like to share my experience in case it helps you make a more informed decision.
Fora has a slick platform, polished branding, and a supportive community. It felt like the perfect place to grow my travel business: modern, inspiring, and full of potential. But as someone based in the UK, I quickly discovered that the structure doesn’t support advisors who need to operate legally under UK regulations.
Key Issues I’ve Encountered:
No ABTA, ATOL, or bonding in place. If you're selling package holidays in the UK, these protections aren’t optional. They are legal requirements, and without them, the risk sits with you.
You're fully responsible for compliance. As an independent contractor, you carry the burden of making sure you're meeting UK laws, including the Package Travel Regulations (PTRs).
Booking restrictions apply. Even if you try to work with a UK-bonded partner to stay compliant, the host structure may limit your ability to do so. This creates a legal and professional conflict.
No UK-specific onboarding or training. I didn’t receive any education around PTRs, bonding, or trust accounts. These are critical topics if you want to run a legitimate, sustainable business here.
Why I’m Sharing This:
When I joined, I assumed these protections were either already in place or coming soon. I was focused on growth and excited by the brand. I didn’t realise I was operating in a legally grey area until I started digging into what compliance actually looks like in the UK.
If, like me, you're looking to build a professional and legally sound travel business here, this is something you can’t afford to overlook.
Final Thoughts:
Fora may be a great fit for hotel-only sales or for advisors based outside the UK. But for those of us working under UK regulations and wanting to sell full itineraries or packages, this platform leaves too many compliance gaps and too much personal liability.
This is just my experience, but I hope it encourages others to ask the right questions before they commit. Your business deserves to be protected from day one.
