Sion for Suppliers: A Few Months In, Here’s What We’re Seeing
When we launched Sion for Suppliers, our mission was clear: to address what everyone in the travel industry struggles with — commission payments. Our goal was to make them faster, simpler, and fairer for the agencies that keep this industry moving forward.
A few months later, that’s exactly what’s starting to happen.
Some of the biggest names in travel — Rocco Forte Hotels, Queen of Clubs, Arev St Tropez and Red Carnation Hotels — are already paying advisors through Sion. And the results speak for themselves. Commissions that used to take weeks, sometimes months, are now landing in advisors’ accounts the same day the payment is sent. No fees, no chasing, no guesswork — just clean, fast payments that let agencies keep 100% of what they’ve earned.
"From day one, our goal was to remove friction on both sides — for the suppliers sending payments and the agencies receiving them," said Irving Betesh, CEO of Sion. "It’s not just about technology; it’s about rebuilding trust in an area of the industry that’s needed it for a long time."
Advisors have been quick to notice the difference. For years, commission payments have been one of the biggest pain points in this business: the waiting, the tracking, the endless follow-ups. Now, agencies tell us it feels like that weight has finally been lifted — the payment just arrives, and they can move on to what actually matters: serving their clients.
“Sion has completely streamlined the commission process for independent advisors. What used to take months and involve third parties and fees now happens seamlessly — from supplier, to agency, to my account. I’m so grateful to have been the first advisor to experience just how easy and transparent this process can be,” said Cydney Lembersky, Travel Agent, SmartFlyer.
Suppliers are feeling the impact too. Beyond speed, they’re saving time and strengthening relationships with their agency partners. Once they process a payment through Sion, the system takes care of the rest — agencies can manage and update their own IATA and beneficiary details directly in the platform, cutting out the back-and-forth that used to slow everything down.
“Sion is exactly what we needed to further strengthen relationships with our top partners. It was quick to implement, intuitive to use, and ensures near-instant commission payments Within a few months, we saw a real improvement after the delays and follow-ups we faced with other systems.” Alexandre Lebrat, Global Director of Sales & Marketing, Arev Collection.
And this is just the beginning. More hotels and DMCs are preparing to join, which means more agencies will start seeing those faster, transparent payments in the months ahead.
We’re realistic — the industry’s commission problem won’t be solved overnight. But we’re seeing real progress. Every new supplier that joins brings us one step closer to a world where commission payments are no longer a headache, but simply part of how travel works.
