Educational Events for Every Step of the Agent Journey

June 27, 2024

There’s nothing quite like gathering with others with a shared passion for travel. Whether at an industry conference or one of KHM Travel Group’s own in-person events, our independent agents love being a part of our community of learning and support. The combination of education and networking has proven to be the recipe for success in travel and we couldn’t be more excited to continue to grow the events we offer.

Group Camp

KHM Travel Group’s first-ever Group Camp in the spring brought together our group travel experts and supplier partners to help agents learn how to curate unforgettable group vacations for their clients. The four-day event was developed to assist agents in meeting the growing consumer demand for shared cruise and land experiences. Group Camp featured a combination of guided instruction, hands-on activities, group discussions, Q&A sessions, and an evening dinner off-site sponsored by Royal Caribbean.

“Group travel is growing at an exponential rate and more agents are looking to make this a part of their business. To do so, and do it well, we are sharing the process of a group from start to finish. Everything from reviewing a contract to managing the accounting side of payments and commissions, all aspects are explained in these busy four days. Our goal is to give agents a clear path to walk for booking groups,” said KHM Travel Group’s Education Manager Carolyn Orf.

Boot Camp 1.0

Our May Boot Camp 1.0 was our largest Boot Camp yet as we provided 83 new travel advisors with a wealth of knowledge and motivation. Attendees walked away with a greater confidence in their sales skills and a network of fellow travel advisors to keep in touch with. New in 2024, the event was available to watch via livestream technology for those not able to attend in person.

Boot Camp 1.0 sessions included: Qualifying Your Client to Cruise, The All-Inclusive Market, Introduction to Groups, Marketing Your "FAMcation," A Journey Through Europe, and more. Because some lessons work better with hands-on practice, agents worked in pairs and small groups to research cruise and land scenarios.

Instructors from the KHM Travel Group Education Team walked agents through using the essential features of our robust CRM (client relationship manager), myTravelCRM. Each new agent receives access to this tool when they enroll. myTravelCRM is where agents enter their bookings for payment, track commissions, and manage all their client data. In addition to the basics, Boot Camp 1.0 sessions demonstrated how agents can send digital authorizations and email campaigns to clients through myTravelCRM.
