It is my pleasure to write a review for my host agency, Independent by Liberty Travel. In 2017, I had worked at Liberty Travel Newburgh for nearly a decade when, at a consultant conference in Punta Cana, Andrea Day shared her vision for Independent by Liberty Travel. My ears perked up immediately! In September of 2018, I joined ILT and I have been grateful for everyday since. This amazing management team is always asking, “what more can we do for you.” Our industry is constantly evolving and so is ILT to meet the needs of its members.
This business model philosophy is evident in the personal support we receive from the management team and from the other support areas. The world is a big place, and when I do not have the needed knowledge to create the perfect FIT for my client, I can reach out to other members and the management team for help. Together, we have got the world covered.
In addition, ILT partnered with Passport Online to provide a basic website for each of its members and to provide opportunities to support your FB page. Other benefits abound as well, some of these include incentives, great commissions, and the ability for personal growth through professional training programs offered at discounted pricing with the Travel Institute. Furthermore, during non-COVID-19 times we have travel consultant conferences in great destinations, and we are free to pick and choose the programs in which we wish to participate. These conferences are so much fun! We get to learn a lot and we can network with other ILT members while enjoying a stay at an amazing resort in a beautiful destination. Does it get better than that?
ILT has solid relationships with travel suppliers so should issues arise, these suppliers are quick to resolve them. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, these suppliers and ILT bent over backwards to ensure that the clients and the ILT members were minimally impacted. I love that I know the membership team personally. I know that they really care and that they are enthusiastic to make ILT the best host agency in the industry. Try it, you will like it 😊!

I previously worked with Flight Centre retail, so the transition to Flight Centre Independent came naturally. The systems and pay structure differ, but the support and enthusiasm among team members remain the same. It's like being in a major cross-country family!
The team leaders celebrate all of our wins and consistently communicate with us to ensure we're always in the loop with changes within the industry. We even communicate with the retail consultants when looking for ideas to help our clients. It's not a competition between brands - we all support each other and want to see everyone succeed!

Having been a consultant with Flight Centre for 14 years, I already know the benefits of the company in general. Great supplier relationships, great support, brand awareness etc etc etc.

I absolutely love working with this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone out there looking for a host. The commissions levels are excellent and the support is incredible. It really feels like you are working with a team even though you work from home.
My experience with my previous host was great, however, I earn so much with my commissions with Flight Centre.
The monthly fee is slightly higher then my previous host, however, I feel that the support I receive and the higher commissions levels mean that I earn more and am better able to provide great customer service for my clients.
I have been with this agency for over 2 years now. I was previously 5 years with another Canadian cruise agency listed on here and I am so much happier! I actually earn an income from travel now. Previously I was earning less than minimum wage, despite selling over $400,000 a year in travel.
Our commission structure starts at 80% for 6 months and then reverts to a sliding scale based on monthly sales. The lowest is 60% and we only need to generate $500 in commission each month to move to 70%, and up from there.
We have agents all across Canada and have a great support system.
