Dream Vacations Advisor

I have always loved cruising and had thought of becoming a Travel Advisor for years. I researched so many host agencies and there was always something that just didn't sit right with me until I found Dream Vacations. My first contact was with Terri, the Recruitment Sales Manager. She answered every question I had (and there were many!) and showed me that my dream of helping people see the value and fun in cruising was within reach. After a very simple signup process I was paired with a franchise, Sea 2 Shore Vacations. I can not express enough how lucky I am to have been paired with Yolande and Tammy, the owners of Sea 2 Shore Vacations. After my very first call with them I felt like I was part of a family. They are so passionate about what they do and that passion is contagious!
The initial training process was simple and I began selling cruises on a part time basis in April 2022. The support offered is there from Dream Vacations and Sea 2 Shore Vacations regardless of how much or little I am selling (I have booked 12 cruises in less than a year.).
The are so many training opportunities and their marketing support is amazing.

I made the decision in early 2022 to turn my love of travel into a career, but made the very common mistake of joining an agency that became an obvious MLM organization. While searching for another home-based travel agency I stumbled upon Dream Vacations (World Travel Holdings) and learned that they were offering advisor positions. I sat through the initial webinar, and by the time that webinar was over, I knew that I had found my new travel agency home. I set up an interview with a recruited, spoke with her, she was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer each and every one of the questions that I had. I made my initial payment (more on this soon) and couldn't wait for my background check to be completed so I could get started on my training and start working with my new travel family!

I don't use the word family lightly, but that is exactly what my franchise owners have developed here. We cheer for each other's successes, and we offer whatever help we can to each other when someone reaches out for advice. I am beyond happy with World Travel Holdings, Dream Vacations, and Sea2Shore Vacation. Yolande and Tammy are franchise owners that I hope to emulate whenever I decide to enter the world of franchise owners. They are extraordinarily helpful, informative, motivating, patient, and kind.

I mentioned the fee that I paid when joining up as an advisor with Dream Vacations. NO ONE should feel any trepidation about this monthly fee. With the MLM organization, I was paying almost twice what I am paying with Dream Vacations, and get FAR more. A working website, with actual, real, information, a professional email address, trainings both with Dream Vacations as well as through the vendors directly, a full scale booking engine to enter bookings, do research, set reminders, invoice, and much more. These are just a sample of what you get for your monthly fee and I assure you, it is incredibly worth it!

Dream Vacations has been an excellent hybrid option for me. I work full-time, but love travel. Having lived overseas and been to almost 50 countries, the allure of being an agent was too great! I wanted access to better prices for travel, and to get paid for all the travel I was already booking for people.

The training was simple, and I was off to the races. So far I have booked 16 trips since last summer, all of them land bookings. It has been an absolute blast and my franchise owner is a rockstar.

A couple of notes. 1. don't think you will get rich doing this. Most vacations outside of cruises and all-inclusive pay very little. Which is ok, but I don't think I fully understood it. 2. Dream Vacations takes royalties, then your franchise takes some (obviously) and then you get the leftover. Again, this makes sense, but I didn't fully understand how much they would take. On some of the smaller bookings where you only make $100 in commission, that doesn't leave a whole lot left over for you. Just something to be aware of. 3. Dream Vacations values cruises over all else. Many of the suppliers I work with my amazing Franchise owner helped me with as Dream vacations did very little with them. Many times we have had to go to the drawing board on things to figure out how to make it work as most training is only about cruises. My strong suit is land travel as that is what I have done the most of, so that is what I sell. It is obviously entirely possible, but something to know. Lastly, the discounts weren't as epic as I had built up in my head :) Through Dream vacations I was able to get my CLIA certification which gets me access to certain discounts, but otherwise you aren't allowed to book through most of the preferred suppliers for yourself (even if you don't make commission) and the discounts you always see people rave about aren't actually that common. Again, just something that is useful to know going into it.

Overall, this is an incredible program with a lot of room for growth. I am now certified to sell Disney and Marriott, have the ability to help people plan a detailed trip, and am constantly gaining new knowledge. I am very grateful and will be here for many years to come! If you love travel, you love to book it, and want to make some extra money, this is a great option.

I have been planning my family's vacations for years and my kids always told me I should be a Travel Advisor. Last year I started to research the possibility and that's when I saw an ad to become an Advisor with Dream Vacations. I interviewed with another company but felt that Dream Vacations was a better fit for me and how I like doing business. I am so glad I chose this company. From the beautiful website and marketing they do to the back-end support they give and learning opportunities, I couldn't have picked a better company to associate myself with. The support staff they have in all departments is amazing. They want to see you succeed as much as you want to.

I am so excited to return to the travel industry. I am thankful for the opportunity to work as an advisor under a 20+ year franchise owner. As I near retirement, this allows me to begin to build clientele in hopes this decision affords me the opportunity I am seeking to continue to share my love for travel with others and to experience new destinations. The Dream Vacations team are very informative and responsive to my questions and show such an incredible willingness to assist myself as a new advisor with the company. I see our relationship lasting for quite a long while.

As a way to ensure I could retire when I wanted in June 2028, I decided to look for ways to start a parttime business that I could grow so that it would supplement my retirement – preferably while doing what my wife and I love to do most: traveling! The thought crossed my mind that, if I became a travel agent, I could make money even in the middle of the ocean.

I began researching options for training, which then lead me to a listing of trusted host companies. As I investigated those companies, Dream Vacations rose to the top of my list. The monthly fee was very reasonable and included Errors and Omissions insurance – which seemed like a great and important deal to me. The further I looked at Dream Vacations, the more quality I saw – from the extensive training center, their business practices and support systems, ability to book just about any kind of travel one could imagine, regional and national trainings, etc., etc.

In addition to all these resources offered by Dream Vacations, the franchise owner to whom I was assigned, Ellen Overcast, has been a terrific source of support and information. She has been able to answer most of my questions, and for the few things she did not know she knew whom within Dream Vacations or their parent company, World Travel Holdings, to go for answers; even contacting business development managers with suppliers for answers, too. I could not have chosen a better mentor!

I would not want to start a business with such vast offerings without a strong and distributed support system. While I had helped some friends and family plan their travel on my own, I did not have the negotiating power to offer promotional pricing and other incentives that we have through Dream Vacations and World Travel Holdings. To have these companies and my mentor, Ellen, as partners – who succeed when I succeed – I truly believe I can develop this venture as deep and wide as I dream to go.

I would strongly recommend you investigate all that World Travel Holdings provides through Dream Vacations. I believe you will find what I did – a well-organized, deeply resourced, highly motivated group of individuals all under this huge umbrella who are committed to seeing you succeed in any travel venture you wish to take on. I dare you to take the plunge! As the world begins traveling again, there are millions of people eager to find trusted guides who will partner with them as they explore the globe. Using Dream Vacations as your host agency will be the best business decision you will ever make!
