Nexion®, the travel industry’s premier host agency, announced new educational and business development offerings that will enable members across the country to further expand and grow their businesses while connecting with fellow Nexion agents. Building off of the tremendous success of its initial NEX-Door regional events launched this year, Nexion will convene six regional sessions in 2016, called Nexion on the Road.
Each event is expanding to two days to correspond with ship inspections or area activities with some of our supplier partners. In conjunction with the expanded professional development opportunities offered through Nexion on the Road, Nexion is adding to its networking resources even more with a new, formalized local networking group program, known as Nexion Networks.
Nexion will also launch Boot Camp 2.0 in early 2016 as a follow-up, online session for agents who attend the popular, three-day professional development program in Irving, TX. Boot Camp 2.0 will help attendees unpack what they learn and apply it to their business through a collaborative and interactive virtual learning environment.
“Nexion only succeeds if our member agents do. Thus, we strive to find new and better ways to help them increase their sales and profitability,” said Nexion President Jackie Friedman, CTC, CTIE. “Business development and education are a major priority, so we plan to offer more opportunities to network, learn and share best practices that will provide our members with multiple opportunities to grow their businesses. Our goal with Nexion on the Road, Nexion Networks and Boot Camp 2.0 is to strengthen our agents’ networks by offering frequent collaboration with colleagues, supplier partners and Nexion staff.”
The NEX-Door events were launched earlier this year and delivered targeted networking and professional development opportunities to Nexion members throughout the country. In 2016, the events will continue under a new name, Nexion on the Road, with host cities including: Seattle, Detroit, Boston, New York City, Fort Lauderdale and Washington, D.C.
There will continue to be a full day of networking and targeted education, plus the 2016 Nexion on the Road events will include opportunities for attendees to experience the host city as a tourist destination in conjunction with the local convention and visitors bureaus. Nexion will also partner with various cruise lines, in four cities, to offer ship inspections and dedicated training specific to the host cruise line.
“The 2015 NEX-Door events were received with such enthusiasm that we wanted to expand on them for next year and offer members a more experiential opportunity in conjunction with the training and networking,” stated Nexion Vice President of Sales and Marketing Cris De Souza. “To be able to learn more about popular destinations and cruise lines will help our members sell these opportunities to clients with confidence and first-hand expertise.”
Nexion will also be launching regional member networking groups around the country called Nexion Networks. Locations for the Nexion Networks were decided based on where Nexion has large concentrations of agents as well as results from a survey of Nexion members around the United States. Members in those cities will work together to form their Nexion Network, and the appointed leader of each chapter will work with Nexion staff to develop the Nexion Network. “The networking opportunities and personal connections from creating a regional Nexion Network will help members collaborate more frequently with the purpose of growing their businesses,” added De Souza.
“We are also NEXcited to mark our 20th anniversary with an additional component to our always popular and highly successful Boot Camp program,” says De Souza. “The 2.0 version of Boot Camp is intended for Nexion members who’ve just completed the initial in-person Boot Camp training. Boot Camp 2.0 will offer an online, professional development platform where participants will make commitments for developing their business, with Nexion staff providing support and helping them meet goals by using Nexion’s various programs and tools.”
