MTravel’s Gets Live and In-Person with New Travel Professionals With “Jump Start LIVE!” Training
Years ago, MTravel™ put live web training for independent travel professionals on the map with its award-winning Jump Start Series. Designed for beginners in the travel industry, the 9-part series takes agents by the hand and leads them step-by-step through the process of setting up their new travel business.
Fast-forward to 2017 and the online series is jumping to the next level. Beginning in April 2017, MTravel will offer Jump Start LIVE!, a three-day, in-person professional development version of the original series to be held their headquarters in Los Angeles, California.
The Ideal Professional Development Program for Hands-on Learners
The new program was born from MTravel’s desire to reach agents who are hands-on learners.
“Jump Start LIVE! is ideal for those who prefer face-to-face training over Internet training resources,” said Andi Mysza, Head of MTravel Hosting Services. “We’ve concentrated the core tenants of our original Jump Start Series into live workshops where agents will learn in small groups of their peers and MTravel team members.”
These workshops blend academic sessions and live demonstrations to familiarize new agents with the fundamentals of running a home based travel agency. Classes will include developing your agency brand, top booking techniques for air, hotel and other products, best practices for accounting, how to customize your agency website, a live Q&A session and much more.
A Relationship-Building Event
The new series doesn’t confine new agents to the classroom. Jump Start LIVE! will also provide them with opportunities to forge connections with fellow agents, MTravel team members and preferred supplier partners.
“Laying the groundwork for future partnerships is one of the wisest moves a new agent can make,” said Mysza. “The support and shared knowledge gained from those relationships can often mean the difference between building an average travel agency and an exceptional one.”
Agent participants will enjoy working lunches with their peers and MTravel staff, exploring 10-minute “Supplier Snapshots” to familiarize agents with their preferred supplier partners. A meet-and-greet cocktail party and supplier trade show will give agents the opportunity to meet business development managers from Montrose Travel’s many preferred suppliers from cruise lines, tour operators and more. The event will conclude a farewell dinner where agents can relax and mingle with their new colleagues
