Montrose Travel has officially launched its new, enhanced training series for affiliates of its hosting program, MTravel. The track builds upon their award-winning “Jump Start Series” training and includes modules designed to incorporate foundational knowledge of the travel industry with practical management of a home-based travel business.
Addressing the needs of both new and established agents was paramount in the development of the curriculum. “We wanted to showcase healthy business practices so our agents can start off with us on the right foot,” said MTravel President Andi Mysza. “Agents who are new to the industry as well as 25+ year seasoned veterans can always use cleaner ways to operate their businesses and close more sales—this series is designed to do just that.”
The 9-part series was created based on a blend of agent feedback as well as key concepts the host wanted to present to their affiliates. Each one-hour session is conducted live via webinar and spans the course of several weeks, with each session being taught by core members of the MTravel Support Team so agents can get to know their mentors personally. It covers topics from developing a prospect list for new clients to creating your brand to perfecting the sales process to maximize profits.
Independent travel professionals affiliated with the host were polled after the first few sessions to get their initial impressions. “We value our agents’ feedback and we were happy to see we were on the right track with this new series,” said Debbie Herroz, head trainer for MTravel. “We also got great suggestions for additional topics to include and expand upon. It serves to make each successive session that much more effective for our agents.”
Each module is recorded and archived so agents can also access the training on-demand. In addition to the new Jump Start Series, the host offers educational sessions anywhere from 3-5 times a week that focus on a variety of product-focused, operational and business development topics.
As a supplement to their ongoing training, the MTravel Support Team is also available to their agents 6 days a week for one-on-one mentoring and sales support via phone and email. As with all of the training with their hosting program, the new Jump Start Series is available at no additional cost to any MTravel affiliate.
In order to encourage agents to continue with their training, the host also offers special incentives to promote ongoing development. Not only the Jump Start Series sessions, but every training session offered allows agents to earn “Training Points” throughout the year. The agent with the most Training Points earns a free spot at the MTravel Annual Educational Conference, this year to be held in Denver-Vail, Colorado in October.
