Montrose Travel Wins Big with 3 Magellan Awards

MTravel, the 5-Star rated host agency division of Montrose Travel, won big this week by being awarded two Silver 2016 Magellan Awards by Travel Weekly. MTravel’s 2015 Annual Educational Conference Video as well as the redesign of their www.MTravel.com website were acknowledged among the best in the travel industry. Montrose Travel also won a third Magellan with its loyalty travel program, taking home Gold in the Travel Agency Innovation category.

What Are Magellan Awards?

Travel Weekly’s Magellan Awards “honor the best in travel and salute the outstanding travel professionals behind it all.” The awards are judged in multiple categories and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the most accomplished leaders in the industry. “This year’s winners continue to raise the bar, establishing themselves as not just the most talented and creative people in the travel industry, but among the most creative and talented of any industry,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. “The creativity that travel industry marketers and designers display to inspire travel and enhance the travel experience continues to impress our expert judges and readers.”

Winning Website Designed with Host Agency Seekers In Mind

With both Gold and Silver Magellan Awards under their belt for their training program, consumer website and other features, MTravel has spent the last several years deepening its web development and marketing prowess to provide more practical online content for independent travel professionals. “When searching for the right host agency, there is so much clutter to claw through,” said Andi Mysza, president of MTravel. “Modern independent travel agents are tech-savvy, discerning individuals looking for a legitimate business partner and support family. The new MTravel marketing website respects their need for simple, transparent information that is easily navigable online.”

Promotional Video Shows Human Side of Hosting

The winning promotional video showcases MTravel’s staff, preferred suppliers and agent partners during their 2015 conference in Jamaica, providing an intimate snapshot of their hands-on approach to professional development. “We wanted to show the conference for what it is -- a family affair -- and give our agents and suppliers a chance to be candid about why the event is valuable to them,” said Mysza. “Every year our content and agenda gets better and better, and the video captures the people and mindset behind its continued success.”
