MTravel.com, the hosting division of Montrose Travel, has officially announced dates and theme for their 2013 Annual Educational Conference for their independent travel professional affiliates.

Registration is now open for the conference which will take place this October 3rd-7th, 2013, with a full optional pre-day of educational sessions on October 2nd. This special event boasts a compound ‘campus-to-cruise’ itinerary, where MTravel.com agents will gather in Los Angeles, CA for specialized training and a tour of Montrose Travel’s headquarters, then head down to Ensenada, Mexico on a 3-night cruise on Princess Cruises’ Golden Princess.

Coming Home to Montrose, CA

The ‘Homecoming’ Theme is the brainchild of the MTravel.com Business Development team, chosen in part due to the overwhelming feedback from the host’s family of independent contractors. After spending the last four conferences in various parts of the country (as well as in Riviera Maya, Mexico) due to agent request, many MTravel.com agents vocalized their desire to visit the Montrose Travel campus to see where their support team operates.

“Montrose Travel has spent decades establishing itself as a Top 5 Host in the travel industry,” said Andi Mysza, President of MTravel.com, “but we are first and foremost a people company. Our agents want to know who they are working with and those they consider to be their business partners. We consider our agents to be family, so it made sense to honor their request and bring our conference back home.”

A Tailor-Made Conference Agenda

This year’s conference boasts an eclectic mix of both education and fun, with highlights ranging from a full pre-conference day of CLIA and destination training to an opening night ‘Homecoming Dance’ party at Mysza’s home in Los Angeles. The heavy-hitting host also was intent on incorporating a cruise back into their conference based on feedback from their agents. “We were excited when we learned that Princess would be sailing from Los Angeles this year,” said Mysza, “It’s the perfect opportunity to provide our agents with first-hand experience with a preferred supplier product, while keeping the conference experience fresh and relevant. We see the combinations of land and cruise, domestic and international destinations as the perfect marriage for this year’s conference agenda.”

In the coming weeks, the host will also survey their agents to determine which sessions will make it onto this year’s training agenda. Along with a suite of CLIA courses to help those agents working towards their accreditations, MTravel.com affiliates will be able to select from topics ranging from maximizing their marketing impact within their community to ‘Destination L.A.’ – a fun-filled overview of what makes Montrose Travel’s home turf such a profitable tourist destination. Historically, this feedback-based approach has proven very successful for both MTravel.com as a host as well as its affiliates. “I attended the very first Montrose Travel Annual Training Conference when I was a new agent,” says Erica James, one of Montrose Travel’s independent travel professionals. “I learned so much. I was inspired. I was motivated. I felt as if, when I returned home, I would succeed -- and I did. I’ve returned each year after that.”
