We're Just Getting Started: KHM Travel's Half Year in Review
They say time flies when you’re having fun, and for KHM Travel Group, this year has been a blast so far! We are just over half-way through 2018, and already we have seen our agents grow in so many ways and achieve so much together.
We began the year by launching weekly commission payouts, which was a welcome change for agents. Our new Travel Agent Spotlight series premiered on our YouTube channel, and we continue to add to the series each month. We love giving our agents the chance to tell their stories and share what being a travel agent means to them. You can find all of the Agent Spotlights here in our YouTube playlist.
This year’s Crystal Conference and Awards was all about the Value of You! We were thrilled to sail on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, and have the chance to connect with our agents, help them learn, and celebrate them for their successes. We’ve been busy planning for the 2019 Crystal Conference and Awards ever since!
In April, KHM Travel Group’s CEO and President, Rick Zimmerman, was selected for the Carnival Executive Board for the 3rd year in a row. The role is important for providing feedback and helping to implement strategies to benefit agents selling Carnival cruises.
That month, our Agent Development team hosted our first Florida Boot Camp in collaboration with Club Med and Carnival Cruise Lines! Attendees not only gained the knowledge and instruction to help them grow their business, but they also got a first-hand look at Club Med Sandpiper Bay.
June was a busy month for KHM Travel Group! We launched Team-Ups with our Regional Coordinators to help agents meet, network, and share best practices within their region. These informal meetings are a great way for all of our agents to work together.
The June issue of Smart Business featured Rick Zimmerman in their cover story discussing the history of KHM Travel Group and what business practices have helped the company achieve success and growth.
The annual Travel Leaders Network conference was held in Las Vegas on June 12-15. This conference offered a range of sessions and workshops for the 70 KHM Travel Agents and four KHM Travel Group team members who attended. We were also awarded the TLN President’s Award in recognition of the sales growth of our agents. Shortly after that, we were included in Travel Weekly’s Power List for the third year in a row. Due to our agents’ continuing growth, we were able to move up six spots from last year, to #47!
June was also a record-breaking month for commissions, with agents’ payouts totally $1.9 million, an all-time high for our host agency. This huge month has also pushed total commission paid out for the year to more than $8 million!
Congratulations to all of our travel agents, supplier partners. and team members for everything we have accomplished this year! We can’t wait to see what the rest of 2018 brings.
