Kelly Bergin has been named president of OASIS – one of the fastest-growing host agencies in the country – it has been announced by Lee Smolinski, CTC, the company's founder and CEO.
"Kelly wears many hats here and wears them all very well, but she is primarily responsible for helping new sellers of travel to launch their careers," said Smolinski. "Equally important, she aids established travel agents, providing them with the skills and tools necessary to grow their business as successful entrepreneurs."
Before joining OASIS as vice president of business development in 2009, the 20-year travel industry veteran owned her own leisure travel agency, Travelstar, in Salt Lake City for seven years and previously worked as a business development manager for both Princess Cruises and Funjet Vacations. Bergin also worked briefly in the real estate technology industry.
Bergin serves on the board of directors for the Professional Association of Travel Hosts (PATH), the agent advisory board for Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and the leadership committee for the South Florida Chapter of the National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA). A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, she and her husband Michael reside in Boca Raton, Fla.
OASIS is one of the fastest-growing host agencies in the country. The company, established in 2009, is part of the Smart Travel Group, which also includes SmartCruiser.com and Palm Coast Travel, which was founded in 1987 by Lee Smolinski, CTC.
The group has grown from a two-person, full-service travel agency in Lake Worth, Fla., to a global travel business covering leisure, corporate, online, hosting services, meetings, and travel technology with over 70 full-time employees and 500+ independent contractors.
