Recess 4 Grownups is hiring an experienced travel advisor to work with our established client base and active flow of new inquiries.

You will not be expected to bring a book of business, prospect for clients, build a personal brand, or market yourself on social media. Your focus will be doing excellent travel work: understanding the client, recommending the right experience, building the trip, managing every detail, and communicating with confidence.

Who We Are

Recess 4 Grownups is a premium and luxury leisure travel firm specializing in international individual travel, customized group trips, hosted bucket-list journeys, Catholic pilgrimages, river and ocean cruises, and escorted tours.

Our clients value expertise, thoughtful recommendations, careful details, and the confidence of knowing that someone capable is looking after the entire trip.

The Role

This is first and foremost a travel advisor role. Initially, you will join selected client consultations with Carol Rowland, our founder, to learn our clients, standards, supplier preferences, and planning approach. You will then own the execution after the consultation. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you may also lead consultations independently.

Turn client conversations into clear travel recommendations, proposals, and complete itineraries.

Research, compare, recommend, and book the components of premium and luxury trips, including hotels, cruises, escorted tours, DMC services, transfers, activities, private experiences, rail, air, and travel insurance.

Serve as the primary planning contact for individual clients, keeping communication prompt, polished, warm, and useful.

Manage deadlines, payments, special requests, supplier follow-up, and all other details needed to move each trip forward.

Close the loop on every action by documenting the result, updating the client when appropriate, and placing the next step into the workflow.

Keep Tern and our shared systems accurate and current so another team member can quickly understand the status of a trip.

Audit arrangements before travel, resolve gaps or inconsistencies, and coordinate polished final documentation.

Prepare final document packages and ship to client.

Collaborate with our group coordinator, administrative support, and booking resources so work is handled by the right person and nothing falls through the cracks.

Support group participants who need individual pre-trip or post-trip arrangements.

What This Role Is Not

It is not a commission-only opportunity. This is a salaried employee position with dependable compensation.

It is not a general administrative role or an entry point for someone who simply loves travel.

It does not require you to bring clients, generate leads, create marketing content, or build your own book of business.

Required Experience and Strengths

At least three years of paid professional travel-industry experience as a travel advisor, associate advisor, booking specialist, FIT operations professional, tour-operator specialist, DMC professional, or comparable role.

Hands-on experience building and servicing multi-component international leisure trips. Experience with premium or luxury travel, Europe, cruises, and escorted tours is strongly preferred.

Comfort using supplier booking systems, cruise and tour platforms, hotel resources, travel insurance systems, CRM tools, and itinerary technology. Tern experience is welcome but not required.

Excellent written and verbal client communication, sound judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.

The ability to organize multiple active trips, recognize the next action without waiting to be told, and work independently in a remote environment.

A practical, calm approach to solving problems with suppliers and clients.

Comfort learning new tools and using AI thoughtfully to improve speed without sacrificing accuracy or personalization.

How We Will Know You Are Succeeding

Within the first six months, you can take the direction established in a client consultation and confidently move the trip from idea to booked arrangements.

Clients receive timely communication, recommendations fit the client and budget, files are accurate, deadlines are protected, and the workflow clearly shows what happens next.

You catch issues before the client feels them, close loops without repeated reminders, and need progressively less review from Carol.

Potential Career Growth

This position is designed to be a satisfying long-term career as a travel advisor. A successful person may expand into greater ownership of complex design and operational arrangements for groups, destination or product specialization, mentoring, or other higher-level responsibilities.

For someone who later wants and demonstrates leadership aptitude, a future path could include a Client Experience Manager or Client Experience Director role. That is an optional career path, not an expectation, promise, or required progression from this position.

Position Details

o  Full-time, salaried employee position.

o  Primarily remote, with occasional travel or in-person meetings possible.

o  Candidate must live in the Eastern or Central time zone.
