Overview

The Sr. Corporate Travel Specialist role is responsible for providing support and assistance to advisors in booking air, hotel, car, and all supporting services. The position will also be responsible for researching, tracking, and escalating queries to resolution. Approximately 80 - 90% of role is to provide coverage for independent advisors while they are on vacation or otherwise unavailable and the other 10 - 20% is to provide general office support and assistance on special projects. This person must be comfortable collaborating with all team members by servicing corporate and leisure support.

This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.

Responsibilities

  • Book air, car, and hotel, in addition to invoicing and ticketing, using the SABRE reservation system.
  • Provide support services to Advisors.
  • Assist Advisors servicing corporate accounts.
  • Provide vacation/out of office coverage for Advisors.
  • Adept at using the internet to research destinations, accommodations, travel advisories, reviews, and costs to best meet customers’ travel objectives.
  • Deliver extraordinary customer service to all GTC customers.
  • Greet all customers with enthusiasm.
  • Provide consultative service to travelers and travel arrangers throughout the booking process.
  • Complete all reservations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prioritize daily tasks to achieve timely completion of all travel arrangements including ticketing, invoicing, and accounting related to the same.
  • Handle most customer service issues directly with the appropriate vendor(s) with the goal of achieving the best resolution on behalf of and in the interest of customers and the company.
  • Serve as back up to Advisor Assist desk.
  • Support Paid Services on an ad hoc basis.
  • Assist with researching and correcting Agresso errors.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a full-time travel agent, booking domestic and foreign travel, using public and private carriers along with vendors in the leisure world.
  • Proficient native Sabre or Worldspan with 5+ years of experience to include knowledge of GDS formats, short cuts, enhancements, pricing, ticketing and exchanges.
  • ClientBase knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with little or no guidance, knows when to escalate to a leader.
  • Good understanding of key GTC initiatives and employs good communication skills.
