Take HAR's 2026 Travel Advisor Survey
Every year, Host Agency Reviews asks travel advisors what’s actually happening in their businesses.
Not what people assume is happening.
Not what gets said on a conference stage.
Not the tidy version that fits neatly into a trend report.
The real version.
How much are advisors earning? What are they charging? Which tools are they using? What kind of support are they getting? What’s working with hosts, consortia, franchises, suppliers, and clients? Where are advisors growing, and where are they quietly hitting a wall?
That’s what HAR’s annual Travel Advisor Survey is built to find out.
This is the 11th year we’ve run the survey, and over time, it has become one of the clearest looks at the travel advisor industry in the U.S. and Canada. The results help us build reports and resources that advisors actually use, and that the companies serving advisors can learn from.
But the data only works if advisors take the survey.
So if you’re a travel advisor, we’d really like to hear from you.

Why This Survey Matters
Travel advisors get talked about a lot.
People talk about advisor growth. They talk about the rise of fees. They talk about new entrants, host agencies, consortia, technology, AI, travel insurance, supplier relationships, burnout, income potential, and whether advisors are finally getting the respect they deserve.
Some of that conversation is useful.
Some of it is guesswork.
HAR’s survey helps separate the two.
When advisors share what’s happening in their own businesses, we can start to see the bigger picture. We can see what advisors are earning, how they’re building their businesses, what they’re charging for, which tools are sticking, and where the industry may be shifting next.
And good data like that makes the industry harder to misunderstand.
It gives advisors a benchmark.
It gives host agencies, consortia, franchises, suppliers, and tech companies a better sense of what advisors actually need.
And it gives HAR the information we need to keep creating useful, advisor-first resources instead of just adding more noise to the pile.
So Who Should Take the Survey?
This survey is for travel advisors in the United States and Canada.
That includes:
- Hosted advisors
- Independently accredited advisors
- Franchise agency owners
- Employee advisors
- New advisors
- Experienced advisors
- Full-time advisors
- Part-time advisors
If you sell travel, support clients, or are building a travel business, your experience belongs in this data.
And if you’re newer and wondering whether your answers “count,” they do.
The survey is designed to reflect different advisor paths, not just one version of what a travel business is supposed to look like.
What We’re Asking About
This year’s survey looks at the practical pieces of running a travel business, including:
- Business model and experience level
- Sales volume and income
- Fees and service charges
- Host agency, consortium, franchise, and independent relationships
- Technology and tools
- Travel insurance
- Client and booking trends
- Business operations
- Career satisfaction
- Demographics
You may not see every question. Your path through the survey depends on your answers.
That helps us keep the survey more relevant to your actual business model, instead of forcing every advisor through questions that don’t apply.
What’s Different This Year
We’ve taken a hard look at the survey experience this year.
Because let’s be honest: industry surveys can get long. They can get clunky. And if a question doesn’t fit how your business actually works, it gets frustrating fast.
So for 2026, HAR has updated the survey to make it clearer, smoother, and more useful on the back end.
We’re also looking beyond the usual “what happened last year?” questions. Those still matter, but we also want to understand what advisors are seeing now and what they expect next.
The goal is not just to publish a report full of numbers.
The goal is to help the industry understand where advisors are today, where they’re headed, and what they need to build stronger businesses.
What You’ll Get for Participating
Advisors who complete the survey will receive a complimentary copy of HAR’s 2026 Travel Advisor Report when it is published.
That report is normally a paid resource. Survey participants receive it free as our thank-you for contributing to the research.
And yes, we know your time is valuable.
That’s why we’ve worked to make the survey more efficient this year while still collecting the information needed to make the final report meaningful.
How HAR Uses the Data
HAR uses survey responses to identify trends across the travel advisor industry.
The results may be used in HAR’s annual report, blog articles, presentations, industry education, and other advisor-focused resources.
Responses are analyzed in aggregate. We are not publishing individual responses in a way that identifies a respondent.
Never ever.
We want advisors to answer honestly. Not cautiously. Not like someone is watching over their shoulder. Honestly.
The whole point is to understand what’s really happening, and that only works if advisors feel safe telling the truth.
Why Your Voice Matters
A lot of people have opinions about travel advisors.
What advisors earn.
What advisors need.
What advisors should charge.
What advisors should stop doing.
What advisors should care about next.
Some of those opinions are well-informed. Plenty are not.
This survey gives advisors a way to put real experience into the conversation.
Your answers help show what the business actually looks like from the inside - not from a supplier deck, not from a LinkedIn post, not from the loudest voice in the room.
From advisors themselves.
That’s the data HAR cares about most.
