HAR Promotes ASTA's Upcoming Board Elections with a Candidate Chat Livestream

HAR Event offers travel advisors an opportunity to get to know the candidates for ASTA’s board elections.

Minneapolis, July 5th, 2021 – Steph Lee of Host Agency Reviews' (HAR) founder, Stephanie Lee, will host a Candidate Chat to familiarize industry professionals with the candidates running for ASTA’s National Director at-Large.

Still amid the fray of pandemic travel restrictions, the past year has exemplified the need for continued industry-wide advocacy. HAR Founder, Stephanie Lee, touched on the importance of ASTA’s upcoming board elections, “This year, more than ever, it's imperative that agency voices are heard. HAR wants to ensure that agencies can hear more from the ASTA at-large board candidates looking to represent them."

The Candidate Chat event will stream live on Tuesday, July 6th at 1:30 CT. Steph Lee will ask each participating candidate two questions in HAR’s event to highlight how their industry engagement and experience shape their candidacy for ASTA’s next National Director at Large.

ASTA’s outgoing chairman, Dave Hershberger, published a statement on HAR regarding the importance of member engagement in this year’s board election. There he writes, “While the entire travel industry was being turned on its collective ear, ASTA was in action on many fronts. When the First Cares Act was being debated, ASTA fought for all things travel advisor and with a major win, got independent contractors included in who was eligible to receive CARES benefits. ASTA lobbied congress to the tune of several hundred congressional meetings to get our story heard and it worked!”

HAR’s Candidate Chat event will stream on Tuesday, July 6th at 1:30 CT on HAR’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Elections will begin July 6th and are open to all ASTA members and are open through July 20th.
