About The Role…

The Travel Coordinator will work with our participants to book air travel to our International, North America and Afloat program destinations. Providing excellent customer service and utilizing their sales skills they will resolve customer’s needs, issues and finalize the air arrangements. They will be become the experts in policy and procedure and make situation decisions based on the needs of the participant and the program parameters. Travel Coordinators will personalize our participants worldwide air travel-all while working from home.

You will….

  1. Sell a variety of travel options including domestic air and International, negotiated and block space air. Qualify calls and provide the best schedules and pricing for customers to enable first call resolution.
  2. Manage inbound and outbound calls in a fast paced environment
  3. Foster relationships with Road Scholar participants through active listening and engagement
  4. Create preliminary flight itineraries for our Travel Customer Arrangements
  5. Promote additional services for custom air participants, hotel , upgrades and additional transportation
  6. Navigate various computer applications, use your search engine skills and toggle between applications while on the phone
  7. Match and fulfill customer needs; effective closing skills, and solid judgment and understanding of company/airline policy
  8. Meet or exceeds Travel Service performance standards in accordance with goals and objectives.
  9. Work with teammates to achieve organizational goals
  10. Receive ongoing development-individual coaching and feedback
  11. Educate customers with sound solutions –increase air on enrollments and enhance the customer experience
  12. Take ownership of customer interaction and experience

You need….

  1. Bachelor's degree preferred and/or comparable experience
  2. Excellent communication, decision making, persuasion and closing skills a must!
  3. 1-2 years’ experience in a sales and service environment , with air travel preferred
  4. Demonstrated sales and customer service skills, including negotiation and closing capabilities .
  5. Motivation to be a team player
  6. Results driven-- Enthusiastic, motivated, self-starters
  7. Strong CRM and computer skills, with a capacity to learn new systems; Amadeus a plus
  8. Ability to thrive in change while maintaining consistency in a fast paced environment
  9. Solid verbal and written communication skills
  10. Ability to work from home with an internet connection and direct connect via Ethernet
