Travel & Accounting Coordinator

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Controller with all accounting operational transactions mainly centered around travel but to include A/P, A/R, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  2. Assist with the coordination and preparation of regulatory reporting
  3. Review, process, and approve expense reports in Microsoft NAV
  4. Reconcile credit card transactions for all travel- and professional development-related expenses
  5. Manage company travel booking system
  6. File and maintain organization of travel documentation, including trip approval, travel receipts, and invoices to customer
  7. Create travel reimbursement packets to accompany invoices to customer, based on receipts and expense reports submitted by employees
  8. Review expense reports for compliance with contract requirements, the Lynker Travel Policy, and the Federal Travel Regulation
  9. Communicate effectively with customers and other Federal points of contact as well as company PMs/Directors regarding travel needs for individual task orders/contracts
  10. Report expense reimbursements and tax withholdings/gross-ups to payroll and/or accounts payable
  11. Communicate the status of expense reimbursements with employees, vendors, and customers and request additional information if needed
  12. Verify that all travel expenses and vendor invoices have been submitted in a timely manner
  13. Create and present Pre-Travel Approval Form to customer
  14. Ensure compliance with customer travel requirements, the Federal Travel Regulation, and Lynker Travel Policies
  15. Assist in month-end and year-end close process
  16. Perform other duties as assigned



  1. Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of education
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  3. Proficiency with G-Suite
  4. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  5. Strong organizational skills
  6. Ability to meet and establish deadlines
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  8. Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with government contractor
  2. Experience with Microsoft NAV
  3. Knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulation
  4. Understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  5. Experience with Client Billing and Accounts Payable
  6. Ability to come into the Leesburg, VA office for occasional in-person meetings
