The Travel Manager will be responsible for the strategy and execution of GMI’s global travel program, including air travel, hotels and ground transportation. The Travel Manager will own the contract negotiation and management of multiple vendors. This role will drive the global service strategy and provide a positive travel experience to the employee at a competitive cost.

 The Travel Manager role will be part of the Global Shared Service Organization, which provides global business and employee services to employees. This role will provide the opportunity to own a global process, develop and implement a strategy and drive customer experience. The Travel Manager will have exposure to and interactions with various global leaders within the Company. The role will provide people management experience with 1 direct report.

  1. Define and lead service excellence strategy for Travel Services
  2. Manage global operations through a rigorous focus on quality, cost and efficiency
  3. Own vendor strategy, negotiations and management
  4. Drive identification and implementation of technology solutions
  5. Lead expansion to new locations around the globe
  6. Maintain effective stakeholder relationships globally and cross-functionally
  7. Develop strategic policies and procedures
  8. Drive new reporting and analytics capabilities
  9. Collaborate with expense reporting team to identify and implement synergies
  10. Develop and lead at least one direct report


  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, operations management, or related field
  2. 5 years of work experience in the Corporate Travel Management (including contract negotiation and vendor management)
  3. Experience managing people
  4. Experience leading process improvement initiatives in a global, cross-cultural organization
  5. Customer service experience
  6. Ability to communicate and influence effectively across the organization, across all levels
  7. Ability to travel 20% (domestic and international)
