Antarctica – How it Started

According to the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators(IAATO) the 2018/2019 season (October 2019 to April 2019) saw 55,489 travel with IAATO members to the continent. October 2019 – April 2020 that number jumped to 74,401 and our host for this session, Jennifer Reynolds, CTIE, was one of those individuals.

Welcome to this ‘big picture’ presentation that will talk about why visit the continent and who is going there. We will look at itineraries and types of ships – and most importantly we will look at a typical day of landings, zodiac trips, kayaking – and penguins. Lots and lots of penguins. After attending this session you should have a good understanding of the destination as well as the opportunities that exists when presenting and selling this magnificent destination.
