Montrose Travel Debuts Social Media Marketing Training Series

April 18, 2016

Social media arguably came into its own only in the last 10 to 15 years, and its impact on online marketing has been tremendous. With so many platforms to choose from, mastering even a single option can be a daunting task for an independent travel professional, especially if you’re a one-person operation. With this in mind, MTravel, the host agency division of Montrose Travel, has tackled the issue head-on.

Designed to Untangle Social Media Confusion

The Top 5 host agency has released a brand new series of educational webinars devoted to untangling the marketing potential behind social media. The program was developed by MTravel’s social media marketing specialist, Mary McGee, as a response to agent requests.

“The best part about social media is how much you can accomplish for free or very little,” said McGee. “I wanted to bridge the knowledge gap and empower our agents to take advantage of this affordable form of marketing.”

The five-part series is designed to provide real-life, practical tools to help independent travel agents make the most of these online platforms. The first session contains a social media overview with general tips and tricks that are useful across all platforms, with subsequent sessions illuminating Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Hootsuite. Each webinar explores the main features for each platform and how to tailor and share content for its specific audience.

More Helpful Sessions on Social Media Marketing to Come

Education sessions

The series was a hit with MTravel’s independent travel professionals, and prompted the host to add more sessions to the mix to help agencies further develop their brand online.

“Social media needs to be thoughtfully integrated into an overall marketing plan for any independent travel professional,” said Andi Mysza, President of MTravel. “These series take the mystery out of the mix by showing agents how to remain relevant and engaging online.”

A second installment of MTravel’s new social media marketing series will spotlight Pinterest, Snapchat, Periscope and LinkedIn, with potential for other popular platforms in the future. Both series are available to any travel professional affiliated with Montrose Travel and are completely free of cost.
